The part you quoted dealt with a scenario where SEC teams could do offsite camps and Big Ten teams could not. Clearly hypothetical.

eh. We see it a little differently but that's ok.

OSU has huge competitive advantages. However, if an SEC team camped in Ohio I would not call it a competitive disadvantage. I would call it that SEC team taking away some of OSU's competitive advantage. They aren't even close to the same thing.
Bama,AU,and UF camping in Ohio while OSU is not allowed to do the same in AL and FL, that is a competitive disadvantage for OSU.
I would agree with this. But I haven't seen anywhere that says the SEC can't do this same thing in Cali and Ohio? If they were not allowed to, I completely agree with you about it being a disadvantage

SEC rules dictate that coaches can only work camps on their own campus. This is only blowing up now because Big Ten schools are doing it. Big 12 schools have been doing this for a while. It's the only way Texas Tech can see a bunch of East Texas kids at one time. Ain't nobody got time for Lubbock.

I'm not completely familiar with how these camps work. Is it a high school that is hosting these or are they corporate sponsors? If its a school, I would think the Coaches of the Power 5 schools close to that HS would have a talk with the administrators about how much they don't like the practice of bringing outsiders down here. If its sponsors, then you fight it other ways.

From what I've seen, it's usually like D2 or 1AA school.

Hopefully the sec changes to allow.
Then Saban can go run camps in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Monroe, etc in LA. Plus he can head to Texas, FL, Cali, up north and etc. You bitches know that Saban will out work every damn one of your coaches and if you think his recruiting is great now, just wait til he can go host all these camps for the elite prospects. It will be glorious the melts from rivals.

so you didn't read the first page?
I actually had not read the regulation and just read it. Interesting. I find the guy talking about Tech to be even more interesting that this is only becoming an issue when the B1G is doing it and not when the Big 12 is.
Carry on. As of now it is a complete competitive disadvantage and I was completely wrong. However, I still think since the athletes are in the SEC, this is creating more competitive balance which is a good thing if you are into that sort of thing overall

Change the rule and have Saban, Miles, et al camped in the middle of Ohio. Make it SEC mega camp and lob the nuke back at them.
It is also misleading when they come to camp down south. Any student athlete should come north in March to see the definition of *shite weather.

The entire SEC is at a competitive disadvantage because the SEC bylaws prevent SEC coaches from taking advantage of the loophole that Harbaugh and Franklin have used to host those camps.
