When the world thinks you are a dumbass, it COULD mean they don't understand your genius...

...but it can also mean that it's just very obvious you're a dumbass.

Outstanding. Now you can begin to remedy it. Let me know if you need any assistance.

I'll be pissed to see Harbaugh at a camp in NOLA fo sho.

Change the rule and have Saban, Miles, et al camped in the middle of Ohio. Make it SEC mega camp and lob the nuke back at them.

Isn't the rest of the country at a competitive disadvantage all the time if more of the good athletes reside in the south? I mean isn't this really creating a more even distribution than a disadvantage to the SEC schools?

I think the biggest issue that needs to be changed if you want the competitive landscape to be somewhat equal is to allow official visits in the sophomore/junior year for kids. By the team senior year rolls around, the best teams are already in bed with their next 25 guys, and teams who are trying to get official visits have no shot when that same guy has been to Tennessee/Auburn/Alabama etc. 5 times over the past 12 months

I think you mean advantage. Saban having a competitive advantage [talent wise] is the only way he's been able to do what he's done at Bama.

There aren't more people in the South, there aren't more athletes in the South, and the people tend to be more spread out, meaning there are fewer population centers where we can focus recruiting and we must travel more.

But please, tell us how the Big Ten continues to be at a disadvantage.

South with the most top 300

There are more premier football players in the south. 112 NOT including Texas, which is almost triple the # in the midwest. It is much easier for a kid to drive 4 hours than it is for a kid to afford flying 2 hours.

There is competitive disadvantage everywhere you look, always has been always will be.

As an OSU fan, would you care for OSU to give up many or any of your advantages they have over most BIG teams and most CFB teams?

Its a loophole the BIG is exploiting, nothing wrong with that. Saban wants the SEC to change the rule, nothing wrong with that either.

And you're so stupid and butthurt. You act like being short is some kind of moral failure, just think about how stupid that is. Saban is tall enough to have played D-1 football and to have made himself a multi-millionaire coaching it. How do you stack up to that doofus?

Dang, Patton is definitely winning the InterTubes lately.

Agreed.

But there are not more people in the South, and there are not more athletes in the South. There are more premier football players in the South because of the (arguably warped) emphasis we place on football.

The South is not at an overall advantage, we are at an advantage in this sport because we place an emphasis on this sport. If the South was overflowing with athletes in general, the SEC would be far more competitive in basketball.

A competitive disadvantage would be something that makes Alabama, and the SEC by extension, less competitive on the football field than teams from other conferences.

I think the only way something can be a "competitive disadvantage" is if the playing field is level today, and with this change it is no longer equal. Just my opinion
