FSU directly because of his work with Saban

You were part of the search to hire Jimbo as coach in waiting at FSU? interesting

So Bobby Bowden would have hired Fisher had he remained as OC at Cincinnati, where Saban hired him from?

Bobby Bowden certainly had plenty of opportunities to hire him before his LSU stint. Fisher only spent nearly a decade as QB coach under Terry Bowden at Samford and Auburn. Yet, he didn't until he blossomed under Saban at LSU. And continued that under Miles.

I'm so confused as to why Alabama fans want Chip Kelly, and why they think people are concerned with them getting Chip Kelly.

Bama fans constantly cried about Lane Kiffin not pounding the ball with the RBs.. do you really think Captain Spread will line up and pound the ball?

Bill, I have no desire to see Chip Kelly calling plays for Alabama. I screamed my fricking head off in the stands begging "KIFFIN, RUN THE DAMN BALL!"

My blood pressure can't handle another stubborn OC that won't feed our 5* RB's.

If this is your logic, why would Canada leave Pitt for LSU?

Offensive bar was set low.. makes him look damn good after his stint at LSU

Bama OCs under Saban
Major-Fired
Jim Mac- to Colorado State-one of the worst programs in D1
Kiffin- to FAU-one of the worst programs in D1

I dont think it is necessarily easier to turn the Bama OC job into a good head coaching job.

I didn't say it was necessarily easier. Pretty good to have on your resume though, as long as you do a good job.

I think that was Major's 1st OC job. Got himself fired as OC at Texas too.

Jim Mac - Got a D1 job at CSU, then UF.

Kiffin - Got himself fired about everywhere he'd been. LSU wanted to hire him as OC.

Fisher - Now HC at FSU. LSU just tried to hire him.

Some former DCs doing pretty well now too - Kirby, Muschamp, Steele.

My point was simply that it seems reasonable that Sterlin Gilbert would view the OC job at Bama as a good move for himself to make.

Chip Kelly's a tool, Prick Saban's a tool.....Bryant Denny would be a Pom-Pom shaking tool box........would be a Spitune utopia....

I'll eat crow on this if I'm wrong, but there's no damn way a control freak like Chip Kelly is going to take a control freak like Saban barking orders at him. This is maybe the most delusional thing I've heard in 2017 thus far.

This is disengenuos Mac didnt go to power 5 from Bama, he went to Colorado State Jimbo also didnt go to power 5 from Saban. Smart did go straight to power 5, but he was defensive coordinator.

However, Strong has had two coaches become head coaches Mike Sanford: Indiana State Jay Norvell: Nevada

As a 49er fan I can tell you Chip's offense, which was lethal 5 years or so ago, has been caught up to by DCs and Chip struggles to adjust once plan A doesn't work. Very Mike Martz-esque.

There's no way Saban is going to put that much pressure and game time on his defense. Hell, he might hire Les as OC before Chip.

This. Last time Bama scored to quickly, Clemson won a football championship
