It seemed to work out pretty well when he did it with Kirby last season

That's correct. The difference is Kirby and Saban, by all accounts, have a very good relationship. Also he was taking a HC job with a non-division team.

Kiffen needs to get to LSU asap so that he can get Tua enrolled and settled in

Only an idiot would believe Saban wouldn't keep him throughout the playoffs.

He may not. Sark's been on staff all year. If he's earned Saban's trust with a month between the SECCG, I can see a situation where the distraction of all the Kiffin leaving talk isn't worth the value of keeping him around.

A little different here, considering the relationship between Orgeron and Kiffin.

I haft to disagree, Saban took a chance on kiffen , I'm not saying he is gonna stay just that I think he has a little loyalty to saban for sticking his neck out and don't know if he would leave at the drop of a hat , if Saban needed him to stay another year.

But if he left I wouldn't hate , he got us some hardware and BAMA has won championships with three different O.C.

LSU go 8-4 next year and that staff is gonna get a MOAB dropped on it.

This entire thread is the perfect example of how ignorant fans are about the goings on around the Alabama athletic dept. and Saban. First, if Kiffin is leaving for ANY other place, he'll talk to Saban about his intentions FIRST. They'll reach a conclusion on how to best transition so as not to hurt either one. Do y'all honestly believe that Saban and Kiffin haven't discussed a change much earlier and how to best accomplish it (remember Sark?). And Alabama fans, after watching Saban "operate" for the last 8-9 years, is anyone actually concerned in the least bit as to the outcome of all these rumors? If y'all are like me, you can certainly find something legitimate to worry about....like how to better read a putt.

So you're telling me that Saban would fire his OC that he just won a championship with last season and would replace him with a guy that hasn't called a game for him. This is totally absurd and in no way rational.

Why would they want Les? Joey Freshwater will probably be the next HC of UH.

Maybe so. Kiffin, Applewhite or Orlando would make more sense. Kiffin advantage over those two would be HC experience and time working for Saban. I think UH will seriously consider Lane. I think Lane would take that job too, unless he gets a better opportunity such as Oregon.

Why is everyone saying that Saban has to fire Kiffin? Do we know how his contract is stated? He might be able to walk away once the regular season is over with, no? I would think after the SECCG the regular season would be officially over right?

If this does hold true it has to hurt in some shape or form.

Not fired but it would be so awesome if Kiffin gives Saban the bird and drives off to his next destination before the playoffs. Please let this happen.

Who said anybody was getting fired? I'm talking about Kiffin having another job at the end of the season - be it LSU OC or HC.

I simply said I can see a situation where Saban might decide the benefits of keeping Kiffin around are aren't worth the hassle.

Would be so glorious and can you imagine if he does come to LSU and takes Tua with him

Serious question though. If Kiffin leaves, who calls the offensive plays, Sark?

How hard will you melt if only half of that happens? If none of it happens?

If he does go then it in no way hurts bama aside from maybe a lost recruit or two. Even then they won't necessarily "hurt" bc they'll just fill that spot with more elite talent.

Sark's a better play caller anyways, so it won't hurt Bama at all.

If he's leaving to go be O's wingman, then he hasn't learned a damn thing from Saban during his career rehab in Tuscaloosa and he can GTFO right now because it's a dick move by a dick.

Saban had zero assistants come with him when he left Michigan State. When's the last time you heard of a head coach change jobs and have ZERO staff come with him? That's how much people hate working for the guy.
