For those who don't know, Neal McCready is the rivals writer for Ole Miss.

I thought "home" was going to be some place of considerable distance, like maybe California or Colorado.

I think his point was "that's not a very long distance so I do not understand why he is homesick."
I don't think he realized that Oxford is still ~4 hours away from Prattville, while Auburn is about an hour.
