Doesn't take in to account his bonuses at UF. Pretty sure he made close to 700k this year all together.

Young defensive gurus see that as opportunity.
coaches see State as a stepping stone to getting on staff at a major university. Orgeron has been on staff at USC twice, at Tennessee, at LSU, and has been a head coach. Why would he want to leave a job at LSU for a job at State only to leave again?

Moral victory I guess? Congrats.

going to be lucky to go to a bowl game next year with what they're losing. WHy would Orgeron want to leave LSU and walk into a rebuilding project when LSU returns most of their team? It would be a bad career m
People sure keeps saying that and it keeps not happening. That was the consensus this year and we won 9 games. Everyone thought that 2 years ago and we won 10. Hell we had Chris Relf as a starting quarterback and won 9. Dan has been around a while and we aren't ever a dumpster fire.

This could be devastating if true....
Yeah, they had tons of trouble recruiting before he got there.........

And only msu fans don't see this as a knock against msu.
It's incredibly rare for someone to leave a company to do the same job at another company for less pay. Especially if the new company has a hell of a lot more money to pay him than the old one. People typically don't take jobs for less pay because of a "great opportunity". Usually it's more because the of some negative aspect of the old company

So are you saying Collins didn't have the potential for 75k worth of bonuses in his contract or that the msu ad wouldn't at least match with a new contract?
Once again....sounds shitty on msu's part. But keep on reaching for whatever point you're trying to make.

you had a 6-6 regular season just a few years ago. And Dak very clearly carried your team this year.

The rumor would be true if having talks were the same thing as being "all in" and "making a push". But since the job hasn't been offered, and there hasn't even been an interview, per NOLA.com and M Bonner, the rumor isn't true.

Can't believe it. LSU is about to pay the man 1 million.

To be the defensive line coach? I would need to see it to believe it.
