Rap/Hip-hip and I was really hurting for names. Arkansas and South Carolina rap scenes are embarrassing.

My lineup in no particular order for Missouri would be
Nelly, Tech N9ne, Chingy, Akon, Jibbs, J-Kwon, etc. (there's a bunch of smaller names from KC and STL).

Honorable mention to Eminem who was born and lived in Missouri until he was 11 years old.

I think I've heard of maybe 3 of these, and the only one I know for certain is Andre 3000. This must be what my grandfather felt like when he heard me listening to that newfangled Benny Goodman that one time.

It's not a list of who's the best rappers from each state, just a list of which state is the best and some rappers from each of them.

Thankfully, I've never heard of 95% of the "artists" you listed.

If you still think Rap isn't art you have your head so far up your arse it's protruding back out your mouth.

well now you know why in-state recruiting in Arkansas is so terrible.

Also you can go with Fred Talley for Arkansas since he played here.

Little Rock is letting the state down one more time.

He put out music on a Mississippi record label, so for the purposes of this ranking he's a Mississippi artist.

Wrong, He's from Clarksdale, MS

ETA: Nate Dogg was from Clarksdale, too. OP missed a lot of Mississippi rappers.
