No doubt

But same for TX. It's not like either state is NY or CA in terms of quality artists. The whole Houston rap scene was some of the worst shite I've heard.

God forbid this not be a thread trolling or flaming

Just accept the fact that you're in an age range that isn't going to click with younger music listeners for the most part, and then avoid threads on the subject

Eminem was born in Missouri and lived there until he was 11. Come on baw, if you're gonna make this list do your research. In his track "So Far" he even makes mention of his "Missouri southern roots".

The only reason I did that was to give the states that have no one else worth mentioning a name that someone may actually recognize. Missouri has plenty of relatively famous rap artists, so there was no need to list Em.

I thought this board was about sports. but then again, I don't consider rap music so you probably couldn't post this garbage on the music board.

Houston is really the only rap scene in Texas. Not sure what you've listened to and hated from Houston, there was certainly shitty rap being made in 2003-2006 or so here

There was also groups/rappers like UGK and Z Ro that were awesome

If it wasn't for his "rock album" we wouldn't have had "drop the world" ft Eminem.

I don't think Louisiana should be number 1 but just saying they don't listen to anyone in the streets like they do Boosie and Gates. They're pretty much nationwide.

It's slowed down big time for sure. If we were ranking how good they are right now, not off history, Houston/Texas rap scene is probably #3 at best

In the mainstream, sure. You could add Kirko Bangz if you want to, but I'm not a fan of his newer music. T Wayne is coming out of Houston and his Nasty Freestyle was the hottest thing on the internet for like a month. Chedda da Connect had some terrible but catchy song hit mainstream too.

Some of the mixtape stuff from Paul Wall/Chamillionaire is pretty good, their studio albums I never liked. Mike Jones is a no talent novelty act

It was generous of Em to donate some good bars to that track.

"I keep on switching wifeys, you gotta Uncle Phil me."

-Wayne

I don't care what anyone says. "Upgrade U" freestyle by Lil Wayne on the Drought 3 is the best metaphorically song of all time.
