Yankees and west coasters will watch the Iron Bowl, TSIO, LSU-Bama, AU-UGA. Etc. Fans from all over the country watch these games, they KNOW about them. None of those people gives a shite about the frikken egg bowl.

Disagree, mainly because that game was on Thanksgiving for so long, now that it is moved back, national interest will pick up even more

LSU-Florida outpasses a few of the others, IMHO. That series has produced some of the more bizarre games in the history of college football

Good point, I know a lot of people from outside of Mississippi that used to watch the Cowboys during the day, and the Egg bowl at night.

Thats part of a self fulfilling prophesy. It isn't a nationally relevant game until its the only one on.

Maybe so, but there are not any serious college fans that don't know what it is that have been paying attention for a decade or longer, just like most people know what the Apple Cup is

It's definatlely one of the important rivalry games that mak up the heart and soul of the SEC

I agree, and that is a very good analogy to line it up with. The Apple Cup and the Egg Bowl I would put in the same group, both great games to watch.

to be honest, nobody cares about the egg bowl outside of mississippi. If the teams were good constantly then it might be different.

I think LSU-Ole Miss is still one of the SEC's great rivalries.

You're doing it arse backward. It's not how much people outside the rivalry care that makes it a great rivalry, it's how much the people involved in the rivalry care. Why is that so damn hard to understand?

For clarity, someone needs to figure out if we are ranking the rivalry(detest no matter the stakes or odds) or the Game(rankings, viewers, matchup).

For Rivalry:
1) Iron Bowl
2)Egg Bowl
3)Cocktail Party
4) UM/LSU
5) TSIO

For Game:
Y'all can bicker over that.

Ranking the SEC rivalries
U boys don't know much about rivals! LSU biggest rival has never changed! We would rather beat OL'OISS & lose to the other teams.

Our 3 BIGGEST rivalries are Auburn, GT, & Fl..

& I'ld count all 3 of them more than SC. Hell, we have MORE of a rivalry with Vandy than them.

Deep South's Oldest Rivalry
UGA: 57
Aub.: 55
tie: 8
total: 120

Clean Old-Fashioned Hate
UGA: 65
GT: 41
tie: 5
total: 111

World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
UGA: 50/49 (depending on who you ask)
UF: 43
tie: 2
total: 95 (UGA)/94 (UF)

UGA/Vandy
UGA: 55
UF: 20
tie: 2
total: 77

UGA/SC
UGA: 49
SC: 18
tie: 2
total: 69

The usc uga rivalry only lasted as long as spur was there, it was more appropriately an extension of the uga uf rivalry and had very little to do with South Carolina

There are two sides to the story. For Carolina it is a huge rivalry, #2 on the list.

many UGA fans try to be dismissive, but there is a rivalry here

It's probably 4th on most UGA fans list, but is certainly top 3 for almost everyone that lives in Augusta or anywhere in the River Region - may even be #1 for some of those folks, but a solid 2 for many of them

UGA fans that live in SW GA would all mostly put Aub as #1

Old timers still have Tech

For me:

1 UF
2 AU
3 GT
3 SC

Although not a rivalry, I would submit to you that Fla v LSU should be near the top for 2017. It will be at the top most categories. National significance and tradition may be lacking compared to some, but it is a 10 out of 10 for all the other superlatives.

I agree with you. In terms of actual dislike for the other team among the players, LSU vs UF is probably #1.

ETA: Not to mention its been the 2 most consistent programs in the SEC since 2000. Both have won multiple national titles. There have been some classic games recently (2016, 2014, 2010, 2007, 2004). The series has been pretty even all-time (UF 32-28-3), especially since 2000 (LSU 9-8). IT seems like every year both teams are in the top 25, unlike some "rivalries".

I'm curious to see if I can actually get an honest answer from an LSU fan, how does your fanbase approach Arkansas week? I'll admit my age and say LSU has been a trophy game as long as I've been alive so it's always had that kind of importance to me as a fan, but I can also see it from the older fans PoV because of how forced Missouri feels for us. That being said, I don't have the hate for LSU that I have for say, Texas.
