Far more Walton students are people coming in from the three local Fortune 500s (including the Fortune #1) to advance their already good career.

Makes sense - Arkansas is the go-to for a lot of folks from the Wal Mart/Tyson line that just need an MBA to progress. Easier to do that than send them through the Harvard online MBA program. Atlanta companies do the same thing with Georgia State or Emory.

So I guess Arkansas probably has as many entrenched Wal-Mart types as they do 22 year old immediate post-undergrad kids.

It is VERY difficult to get into the MBA program at Walton without experience. Not a whole lot of 22 year olds taking those courses. That's why the University has a 90% employment rate upon graduation. They get people already in the industry to come back to school, so most already have a job, or the experience and connections to get one lined up fairly easily. There's 3 fortune 500 company headquarters and 350+ fortune 500 satellite offices, not to mention all the other random satellite offices for smaller Walmart vendors. The opportunities for employment are abundant in NWA.

A lot of the undergrad only degrees are management/marketing type jobs. A finance or accounting job automatically requires graduate school, so anyone getting a job immediately after undergrad in one of those spots is basically taking a low level job. Plus, low COL state. So, it all adds up

I am not questioning you. It just seems low to me. Makes me appreciate the start I got out of school.

Yea, like I said, just depends on your field. The fields that Alabama is most highly ranked in (Finance, Accounting) are careers that require at least 1 year of Grad School. So, the immediate out of underg jobs are mostly marketing/health care/management. And most of those start out with low initial pay or at the least low salary/high commission.

Let's talk some offseason smack: 9 ACC schools ranked before you get to the first SEC school

3 - Boston College
5 - UVA
7 - UNC
13 - Wake Forest
23 - Syracuse
31 - Miami
39 - Ga Tech
47 - NC State
49 - Pittsburgh

Seems off. I don't see Duke (Fuequa) I assume these are undergraduate schools?

Yes, Vandy isn't listed either for the same reason.

International Schools of Business ...

US News and World Report LINK

#1 - University of South Carolina

... followed by NYU, Georgetown, SoCal, Penn, UC Berkeley, etc., but no other SEC schools. Mizzou-St Louis doesn't count.

And SCAR is #4 on this list, with no other SEC schools included ... LINK

USC's International Business School is definitely legit. One of my law partner's daughters graduated from there (now gainfully employed) and my nephew is going there next year.

Also, Ole Miss's Accounting schools are in the top 10 for undergraduate; Masters and PhD.

Everyone of the B-schools in the SEC will get the job done for you if you are good enough to get in.

Hats off to anyone who can make it into any of those schools and succeed.
