Does Gus train his WRs to block more than catch? The WRs seem to lack development, can't catch very well

Last year almost every WR on our roster was a converted HS QB. Only exceptions I can think of are Duke and Tony Stevens who sucks

Agree. Auburn's offense worked well under Cam and Nick because we ran the ball well all three of those years. Cam was a great passer but it was his ability to pick up first downs with his legs that made our offense so tough to stop.

I think that White is the best QB on the roster but I think that's irrelevant because he doesn't work in our offense. For that reason, I think that Queen, Franklin, or Woody would be better for us

It's JFIII's job to lose.

Take away that impressive OT win Jacksonville State and shootout vs Idaho and JJ has the same record as Sean.

Excuse Sean for being a freshmen dropped in the middle of SEC play and given some of the worst play calling I've ever seen

The fact that many Defenses were not scared of the QB running was a huge factor imo. One of the most annoying things when playing against Nick and Cam is that you really had to stay disciplined on defense.

Do you guys expect anything from Darius Slayton this yr? I was very high on him coming out of HS, was surprised he took a RS.

And you take out San Jose State and Memphis (since he did pretty much nothing for us that game) and he sucks even worse.

These "what-ifs" work both ways.

-RS freshman.
-Play calling isn't going to change. Same crew that called them last season are still in place

Yeah, balanced with Cam. Sean and a running game that focuses more on the RB gives us the best chance for balance.

2013 offense was great, but it was one dimensional. And in 2014 once teams had seen it and had game tape we sputtered big time. As a passer Franklin has much experience as Marshall did coming in. No way he has a strong an arm though. But teams will be expecting us to run the offense like the 2013 offense. Best case scenario Franklin is a marginally better passer than 2013 Marshall, we're looking at another 8-5 season.

He's in good shape to start next season if he's as good as advertised.

Not an understatement - my neighbor scratched his head bald trying to understand WTF was going on with Gus/Rhett's play calling.

Come Dec. when Gus gets his walking papers, I think Sumlin would be a good fit.

If White or JF wins the job, JJ will get plenty of playing time as long as he is part of the program.

I fully expect White to be the starter and JF move to receiver.

You're very sloppy here, but I'll counter anyway.

2013 we were one dimensional because we didn't need to be anything other than one dimensional. Tre Mason, G-Rob, Prosch had the running game nearly unstoppable.

The difference in '14 and '13 wasn't that defenses figured out how to shut down the run. The difference was that we lost Mason and G-Rob to the draft, and Prosch ran out of eligibility. We wouldn't have been as dominant in '14 with all of the same guys but the difference would not have been so extreme. But please, continue to forget that we lost the core of what made us that great in '13

in '13 we lost 2 games. So you're saying that with a better passing Nick Marshall, we'll lose more games?

You're sloppy, man. Sloppiness happens when you know that you're full of shite and you don't believe what you are pushing

I'm down with one dimension, as long as that one dimension is as good as it was in 2013.

When did Rhett join the staff and does anyone really know how much influence he has in the play calling?
