JJ will rise from the ashes like a Phoenix and build his statue among the greats.

Or one of the others, it doesn't matter which one.

He could be a really good QB in a different system but ya I don't see it in the system that Gus runs.

Not sure why anyone thought he looked really good.

58% completion % coupled with a 1:4 TD:INT ratio.

Maybe I feel for him just because of the Arkansas game. The WRs screwed him over so bad in that game.

you know as well as I do that they never let White take the training wheels off with the play calling and that our WRs couldn't catch a cold last year. There were multiple games last year that we should have won where White was dropping dimes in the WRs hands only for our shite WRs to drop them and kill us. Arkansas, Ole Miss, MSU. All winnable games with better WRs, and Sean was the reason we were in them.

Sean White is the best QB on the team, period.

And he wasn't a bad runner either. He had around 75 yards rushing at one point against MSU before the OL gave up 3-4 sacks. He was quick and made good decisions in the read option. Then he got hurt and was limping around.

What kind of system does Gus run now? Seriously, it's not fast paced anymore. They substitute on offense which allows the defense to do the same and make adjustments.

Gus' has been pretty predictable in that they run the ball on every 1st down even when everyone + their mother knows they are going to run it. He better be devising some wrinkles in that offense, because all of Gus' silly motion was ignored by defenses last year, coaches knew Gus wouldn't adjust and couldn't change his tendancies.

I guess he wasn't a bad runner but I don't think he can really run the offense Gus wants to run.

I think so too. That's why IronsPuppet post about SW transferring after this semester shocked me somewhat.

I thought SW stayed calm and delivered a good ball, the receivers let him down in a few games.

Does Gus train his WRs to block more than catch? The WRs seem to lack development, can't catch very well.

In almost 10 yrs of college coaching I don't even know a WR that Gus has in the pro's besides Coates and he got drafted in the 3rd round due to his sheer ability not because he was a standout WR at AU.

If he was, you wouldn't have to say things like this

Sean was 2-3 as a starter. JJ was 4-3.

Our two best wins last year were A&M and Memphis probably. White didn't play in the A&M game and he threw 2 INTs in the Memphis game. There was 1 TD pass in that game and it came from Jeremy Johnson.

How do you know what kind of offense Gus wants to run? He wanted to transition to more passing last year but it turns out JJ has rocks for brains and our only WR with hands was a complete thug.

His had traditionally molded his offense to fit his QBs strengths.
2013 and 2014 we were run heavy because Marshall wasn't a great passer, but a dynamic runner
2010 we were balanced AF because Cam was a threat to run and pass
2009 we had Chris Todd who was a statue and we set AU passing records. And Todd had a bum shoulder, he just wasn't stupid like JJ is

We were never really a fast paced offense. We like to line up quickly, but evidence points to our offense being near average on pace. We're only really quick when we are picking up a first down which we haven't been so great at without a mobile QB in the pocket.

Sean isn't a running threat although he's not exactly a statue. JJ is just big and slow.

No one knows for sure but I know what Auburn's offense looked like when it was at its best under Gus.

They certainly have loads of young talent at WR, I'm willing to bet those guys would like to see White win the job.
