Stupid question. How are we supposed to know the answer to a hypothetical question about how a bunch of 18-22 year olds are going to react to a loss?

But you were able to get in their heads and know they just didn't care enough in the Sugar Bowl to win?

The losses highlighted the issues that Bama was able to overcome during different points in the season. The defense wasn't as dominant up front, no pass rush, and poor secondary play. At the end of the day a loss is a loss. Once players are on the field they should want to play regardless of the game.

"You" was referring to the Alabama fans who made the claim I referenced in the OP. My apologies for not clarifying.

Do you really think I care about what kind of shirt some moron makes. Congrats , your obsession is on par with a dude that makes shirts and doesn't know the rules to Wheel of Fortune. Come on man. You gotta be smarter than that.

Of course it meant something. We hate to lose any game, and do not want to do so. It didn't hurt like the Auburn game or losing a national championship, it was just disappointing, and I feel that it shouldn't have happened, but it did, so hopefully they will learn from it and move on, but every game means something, and certainly a bowl game does. Maybe some fans have been trying to justify a loss, but it can't be done. It's a loss and even if we feel there were things that made it happen, it was still a loss, and over and done with, and you can't change it.

Meh....its like to Utah loss...Since we weren't playing for a title wasn't that upset about it.

That said, we have lost the last three to OU and I hope we see them again in the playoff.

Exactly. That dudes "inquiry" took more time than it took for that neck to make the wheel of fortune shirt.

Regular season and bowl games are two different things, but I also don't think we mailed it in for the Sugar Bowl. We just got beat by a more prepared team.

Heard a lot of Bama fans who I know IRL and on boards say the bowl game loss didn't mean anything. That bc Alabama expected to play for the NC, the players just couldn't get up for the bowl and it was meaningless anyway. Not going to debate that here.

unless it is a title game, bowl games never mean anything.

quote:

You'll play 4 games before your first challenge of the season, Ole Miss (no offense, Gators). Like it or not Bama fans, this game should scare you. Reports out of camp have Bo Wallace healthy and strong and performing well. 3rd year under Freeze, lot of play makers, home field advantage. QB, OC, and defense questions for Bama, etc

OM will be OK relative to their recent seasons, they'll still be way behind Bama though.

quote:

Using the logic of the Sugar Bowl loss, if you lose this game, does Bama mail it in for the season? What keeps your players motivated since it seems like it's NC or bust?

I think you are confused on the logic of bowl game losses.

An loss to OM? Bama will keep playing hard for the SECCG and a birth in the four team playoff.

Wtf? They'd still be in the NC hunt. This was a retarded question.
