The sugar bowl is meaningless, at least for a team that has won 3 of the last 5 NC's.
That being said I love going to New Orleans, hate the 3 game losing streak to OU, and would have had a much better time had Bama won.
And Ole Miss is not beating Alabama this year or any year in the near future.

I enjoyed watching some of the guys for the last time and some of the big plays. The outcome of the game had literally no impact on my mood.

If they are in a decline they'll be playing Minnesota type teams in the bowl. I would care even less then.
I grew up when bowl games were exhibition like, I'll always see them that way. Now with the playoffs, they'll mean even less in my book.
