Exactly. That dudes "inquiry" took more time than it took for that neck to make the wheel of fortune shirt.

Yep, if he had spent a little more time, another UA fan wouldn't have ended up (AGAIN)embarrassing himself in the national media. LINK

I also question your fanhood.

On a scale from 1-10, how much did you want A&M to beat Alabama?

On a scale from 1-10, how much did you want them to beat Duke?

If you don't say 13 and 4 then you're either lying or a super dedicated fan.

Having a great run like Bama has had is beyond awesome, but like most things it has it's downside too. It was a historical 3-peat or nothing for Bama last season. After that wasn't achievable, Bama's season was over. Plus all non-high-profile games just don't mean as much like they use to before Saban arrival(2001-2006). But....if I had to pick between low or high expectations. I'll take having high expectations all day long compared to caring about runner-up type prizes. I've lived through both, and the memories from Championship seasons far outweigh 1,000 moral victories. Last season Bama team was good, but they were missing that Championship gene(Drive especially) that the 2009, 2011, and 2012 teams had within them. Most Bama fans knew this deep down, but admitting that is tough for any fan. I've never seen so many 3rd & long given up by a Bama team in contention for a title. It was tough to watch such a terrible 3rd down Bama defense last season.

Bama going 72-9 since 2009 has been one heck of a ride.
Hopefully Bama with Saban at the helm can keep it going.

No it wasnt. We still had a BCS bowl game to play.

Huh? What changed after 2006? and are referring to non-high-profile games as BCS bowl games?

Fact #1: Oklahoma handed us our asses. Hey it happens. Props to them!!

Fact #2: We were out-coached, outplayed, and out-hustled, by a talented team and EXTREMELY motivated team who heard all of the chatter about a possible beatdown. They came in feeling disrespected, pissed, and HUNGRY!!

Fact #3: That Bama team played with complacency after the LSU victory. They were NOT as hungry as previous teams.

Fact #4: This Bama team is pissed!! Those two losses may have been EXACTLY what they needed to get that edge back.

Fact #5: If CNS truly opens up the playbook and let play every single snap, up to the end of the game, as if the score is 0-0, this team will do some serious damage and WILL be in the 4-team playoff.

Ok.

myopic point about the Sugar Bowl.

How's this myopic? Based on just the majority of responses in this thread about bowl games being meaningless, it isn't a narrow point of view.

So your hypothetical also assumes Bama loses more games? Shouldn't you have included that? Your question was idiotic.

Ok. Maybe it was, maybe not. And I should have put that in my OP.

Dude. Calm down. I bet you can rattle off Alabama's 110 man roster. Your obsession is pretty deep.

I probably can't name 5 Bama players. Show me all my Bama obsessed threads.

I didnt see this. I saw our players playing very hard in both the AU and OU games.

I don't like the fact that Bama has a tendency to mail it in after their championship hopes are gone. They were playing for the same prize that OU was and they should have approached it with the same focus.

That said, when a team is trying to make history by winning three straight NCs and lose the last regular season game to be eliminated from contention, a little drop in give-a-shite should be expected.

I'm not sure if the tread has derailed yet but I'll address the OP.

The OU loss hurt, I love the Sugar Bowl history, but at the end of the day it didn't mean as much as the AU loss. With a team that had a mindset where anything that is not a NC is failure, I believe some of the players may have felt that once we lost to AU the team had already failed. The AU loss still bothers me but the OU loss in my mind isn't a big deal.

A loss to Ole Miss isn't comparable to the AU loss. We can lose to Ole Miss and still win the SEC and still win the CFB Playoffs. A loss to Ole Miss would be more likely motivate the team than cause them to "mail it in for the season."

I think they played hard, but they didn't play with that relentless intensity that they'd played with in the past. This year, I think you see a MUCH hungrier team.

To me, every game counts. But here are the rough guidelines for me.

BCSNCG > SECCG > auburn > lsu/tenn > other regular season opponents > Non BCSNCG bowl.

But to be clear, even though the sugar bowl would be last, it sucked to lose that game.

And no, losing 1 regular season game in the middle of the year would not cause us to give up on the season. That's a dumb question.
