Heard a lot of Bama fans who I know IRL and on boards say the bowl game loss didn't mean anything. That bc Alabama expected to play for the NC, the players just couldn't get up for the bowl and it was meaningless anyway. Not going to debate that here.

Look at the schedule this season.

You'll play 4 games before your first challenge of the season, Ole Miss (no offense, Gators).

Like it or not Bama fans, this game should scare you. Reports out of camp have Bo Wallace healthy and strong and performing well. 3rd year under Freeze, lot of play makers, home field advantage. QB, OC, and defense questions for Bama, etc.

Using the logic of the Sugar Bowl loss, if you lose this game, does Bama mail it in for the season? What keeps your players motivated since it seems like it's NC or bust?

Words of the ignorant. If they had won I'm sure they would have celebrated like it was important.

Completely agree with you, but no use in trying to debate that here.

So your hypothetical has Bama losing 1 game? Maybe still winning a championship could motivate them. Just spitballing here.. Great question.

I have a question for the state of Alabama. Why do your two main universities have two different school mascots?

Tiger doesn't equal an eagle
Tide doesn't equal an elephant

Mississippi is all hype and LSU last year was a fluke win.

We own their arse and it won't change. No matter the coach. No matter the scheme. They could be #1 in the country and that game wouldn't scare me.

Ole Miss is Alabama's punching bag.

While I think the premise is a little weak, Saban would have a quite a task if Alabama were to drop 2 games in the first 1/2-2/3 of the season.

It's been a while since he had to motivate a team to finish strong to play in the Capital One bowl.

Stupid question. How are we supposed to know the answer to a hypothetical question about how a bunch of 18-22 year olds are going to react to a loss?

First off, why the frick start the thread if you think so? Secondly, how about you give the thread a chance to see.

If you're looking for a circle jerk you should just go to your team's forum.

Corndog - I agree with him on the point that if Bama had won they would have celebrated. Point of the thread is about this season. Try and keep up.

It's the Sugar Bowl. Alabama has more history there than any other program, including LSU. Of course it was important.

As for Mississippi, we know it will be a challenge. But we also have their number with 10 consecutive losses in the series for the Rebels.

Obsessed much. Rent free in your dome. Just let the season start and play out. You barners should know all about that by now.
