Bama clearly getting our moneys worth from Grant.

Just give him time to install his system.

I would have been fine with firing him last year. Barring a miracle season this year, I'm going to be pissed if he isn't gone in March.

Let me predict how our season will go:

We'll win some cupcakes. Lose to all the good teams. Win 20 games. Be a bubble team.

The offense will suck. The defense will be decent. Our recruited shooters will shoot a low percentage because they'll dribble the ball for 30 seconds then jack up a contested 3 at the buzzer.

Problem in the SEC is two fold. Most of the big money fan bases, UGA,Auburn, LSU, and some extent Bama, don't really care. The Pete is rarely half full, Coleman is kind if a oh hum crowd experience, and auburn has less fans show up than my high school.

Secondly the recruiting base here in the south produces good athletes in basketball but most don't know how to play as a team, AAU shite ruined it. Very low basketball IQ

Golden is twice the player Barton is. To say otherwise is pure ignorance, he's a MASSIVE downgrade.

You can believe me now, or end up agreeing sometime around the 3rd game, doesn't make a difference to me.

He also shoots about ~50% from the free throw line. Always a great trait in a PG. I've watched more Memphis Tigers basketball than I'd like to admit. Barton is worthless.

Career Stats at Memphis.

20 minutes per game.
6.1 pts
1.35 assists
1.05 TO
63% FT

Let's not forget the vast majority of those stats were accumulated against CUSA teams that were drastically out gunned at every single position on the floor.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

It won't always be a 3 pointer jacked up.

We'll see how it plays out. Golden had trouble beating the press and you never knew which One was going to Show up. Ill get back with you on it. I heard Thompson is in the Mix too. If Barton doesnt work out, i know the coaches like what he brings. Either Way theres no excuse for Martin Not to make the tournament

SEC teams really need to do well in the non-con this year to boost our national rep. We had some bad losses last year heading into SEC play, and then just beat up on each other over the conference season.

Pretty much. I know both Florida and Kentucky have some big opportunities to do just that but I don't know what anyone else's looks like. Mizzou may have some decent matchups if I recall correctly.

I figure the conference is trending upward. IMO UK last season was an anomaly and will improve, LSU has a fantastic class on campus now, Florida has their bunch. Tennessee has some guys returning. And you have less coaching turnover IMO. Some new guys like Martin are gonna be more established. I think at one point last season you only had two firmly rooted coaches and the rest were either relatively new or potentially one foot out of the door.

The dissolution of the Big East comes at a perfect time for the SEC to grab some more bids in the tourney.

Someone should remind him what happens to coaches in the SEC who paint up.

I can assure you UGA cares when we're decent. Look at the Harrick years. His last 2 years I think we sold out every single SEC home game. We just haven't had much to be excited about recently.

This is just blatantly false. Every school cares when they're good.

Man the SEC sucks in basketball these days, what happened?

There used to be like 4-5 legit teams a year, now it's like 1.

Knowing the state of our O, I can't wait for hoops. It could be a rough start with suspensions on the pipe the first few games, and some injuries, but we are gonna be good. Can't wait to see Hill.

Many of our fans will be surprised at how bad Barton is. He's slightly better than Golden defensively because he is more athletic, but if this team is going to be a legitimate contender then Thompson will need to take over as the starting point.

As a UK fan, I'm hoping the additions of Mizzou and A&M will act as a catalyst for a resurgence of SEC basketball. When SC and Arky came in, the Razorbacks quickly won an NC and challenged UK for leadership in the conference. It seemed they would be a force to be reckoned with for a long time.

I'm hoping Mizzou will continue their strong basketball program. A&M should build theirs to compete at the top of the conference. With their resources, they have no good excuses.

There's just no reason the SEC shouldn't be one of the top conferences in basketball overall. With the number of flagships in the conference, we should be tops in every sport.

I don't understand why A&M isn't better. Their entire program has been in shambles since Acie Law left.

Georgia fans, why aren't you guys better in basketball with one of the most powerful AAU basketball programs (Atlanta Celtics) in the country to pick players from?

If the rest of the SEC treated half of their games like the Kentucky game the conference would improve massively.
