Harris has two years to develop at the hardest position in college football and he has made very few mistakes this year. Not saying mistakes won't happen as we have some tough road games coming up.

continuing to say Harris is a 1st round talent. Ie, he could potentially go in the 1st round of the draft. I bet even if you surveyed your own fans nobody aside from the lunatic fringe would think the same way.

He definitely has the arm talent to be a 1st round Qb. It is not only the lunatic LSU fans that think so. Let's have this discussion next year.

1st round talent? idk. I think the natural talent is there, for sure.

That's all I'm saying. He has the natural talent. Look at how much he's progressed from his freshman to sophomore year. The fact that his efficiency ratings, his YPA, and QBR, are all very good as a sophomore are a good sign for him.

Bottom line, Harris is looking solid. Anyone who thinks differently hasn't been watching LSU very much.

LSU's offense looks good....obviously a run first offense, but an efficient passing game to go along with Fournette and the dominant OL.

Harris is last in yards, attempts and completions among full time SEC QBs. 3rd to last in completion %. There are your stats.

Harris isn't nearly as good a QB as Fournette is a RB.

Of course not. Fournette is going to be a legend.

So did Logan Thomas, so who knows? I didn't guarantee it or anything. I'm saying he has the raw talent to be one. He's a true sophomore, so a lot can happen. But so far, he's shown composure and accuracy, notwithstanding some horrendous performances by our WRs earlier this year.

Where did I downplay it? In fact where did I say anything negative about harris period? I've been nothign but complimentary abotu him this entire thread. All I'm saying is I dont think he's AS GOOD as lsu fans are making him out to be.

you said you needed to see him vs Bama

While I agree, I also think how he looked vs UF ws enough for me to finally say LSU has a good QB

I'm not worried at all about him vs Bama. Their secondary isn't on UF's level. It's their front 7 that is scary. But Harris, as I'm sure you've seen, is very good outside of the pocket no the run.

Probably ones that would be agnostic of the fact that he's played in one less game when comparing him to other quarterbacks. Completion percentage is the only one that isn't, but he's been pretty damn good in SEC play this year (back of the envelope: around 67% with YPA around 7.4 and trending upward).

Now let me ask you all. If you are the opposing D Coordinator vs LSU what strategy do you use?

If it is me I am going all out to make your QB try and beat me, because I ain't letting Fournette do it. And Bama has the horses to play this way.

However, Harris stands as our only positively graded passer in the SEC after Week 7

Don't get me wrong, I think Harris is a solid QB. However, I think that the fact that he was the only QB to come out of week 7 with a positive grade is a pretty damning revelation about the quality of QB play throughout the conference.

Anyone who has watched Harris throw this season knows he is a excellent passer. His time will come as the staff grows more confident in him, which LSU fans know may take a while. He really hasn't made many bad throws this year and has had a lot of drops. He throws a flat pass that's difficult to catch at times and even more difficult to adjust to.

He's thrown for 812 yards in SIX games, has barely even attempted 100 passes, completing less than 60% of his passes, and is 7th (in a 14 team league) in QBR. Oh, he also has by far the best RB in america to hand off to while facing 8/9 man boxes.

I can tell you are only a stat watcher. Prior to the South Carolina game, the WRs had extreme butterfingers.

4-5 drops per game is nothing when you're throwing 30-35 times per game, but when you are only throwing 15-16 times, it is f**king back breaking. That's when Miles shuts down the passing, and when Fournette has to take over. Harris can be erratic at times, but he makes great decisions with the ball and gets better each game. This guy is growing, the WRs are growing, and by the end of the year, we will have the numbers to prove it.

SEC QBs in SEC Games

This is what really matters. He looks to be doing fine when looking at the actual conference which is what is more consistent competition across schedules.

Do you really need to ask this question?
There's a little fella named Leonard Fournette averaging 200 yards a game.
Why pass more?
