The strength of Harris’ passing this season has been working the middle of the field between the numbers on passes of 10 or more yards, working in behind the safeties and linebackers who have moved up in the box to defend Fournette’s runs. Harris has completed 13 of 26 passes in this range for 395 yards, earning a +5.5 PFF passing grade on these throws. Compare that to SEC West rival Jake Coker (who gets to work off of star Alabama RB Derrick Henry’s ground attack), who has gone 13-of-34 for 318 yards on those throws, but has tossed five interceptions as well, earning a -1.2 grade (although Coker has been even worse on throws closer to the line of scrimmage).

Top qb in the SEC, you say?

No way. The expert analysts on the Rant said he was only marginally better than Jennings. Those guys know their stuff...

Why do yall try so hard to prop up an obviously average at best QB? What are you a Bama fan?

I'm just posting a good article on an SEC QB. Is this not the SEC rant?

LOL, Bama hasn't had a QB with BH's arm talent in quite some time

Brandon Harris is looking great and getting better week by week. LSU's offense is beginning to look very very good with Fournette + mistake-free efficient passing game.

Harris #3 ranked QBR in the SEC as well.

Brandon Harris has done what he's needed to do.

LSU has a top tier offense.

That doesn't translate into Brandon Harris being an amazing, astounding QB. He's what LSU has needed to this point. The question is whether or not he can perform if/when someone slows down Fournette. It would surprise me if he could have a break out game under those circumstances.

You should know that LSU fans do not go out of their way to prop up QBs. We were right about Mett, too. Harris is a good QB; LSU just doesn't need him to do much....yet.

He's thrown for 812 yards in SIX games, has barely even attempted 100 passes, completing less than 60% of his passes, and is 7th (in a 14 team league) in QBR. Oh, he also has by far the best RB in america to hand off to while facing 8/9 man boxes.

Is he better than expected? Yeah. I didn't really expect much at all out of harris but he's performed admirably and done what needs to be done to win ballgames. But don't act like he's tom brady, or even one of hte best handful of QBs in the league. He isn't.

Idk who you guys have had that has had a big arm, but Harris really does. He did a Jamarcus video a while back throwing it like 70 yards in the air. I don't understand it TBH because he's pretty skinny.

He's done everything they've needed him to do and gone slightly above that here and there.

I enjoyed shitting on him from last year, but there's really not anything I can say anymore that's negative about him.

Well it's not like there is a large sample to pull from to show Harris is good. You will need him to win vs Alabama. Maybe he gets it done, maybe he doesn't. I'm leaning towards not, because I've seen him win a game on his own before.

He's been as good as anyone else in the SEC when he's needed to be. He looked great vs UF and SC. Both games where Fournette didn't get an early start.

Do me a favor and google his turnovers.

Yet they've beat LSU what, 4 or 5 years in a row?

Not surprised. Harris has played very well but hadn't had to do anything special until the Florida game. Coker sucks, so it is silly to even compare the two.

Yea, I know. All we really have at this point is UF and SC and he looked good in both. I hate to break it to you, but Fournette is still gonna get his vs Bama. It may not be enough to win, but yall aren't going to shut him down to the point that LSU is forced to depend on Harris. LSU needs him to play well to win, but Fournette will be the difference maker for us in every game that he's at LSU.

there's more to a QB than just turnovers. Mason was top 3 in america last year in efficiency throwing I believe 21 TD/4 INT....would anyone on this board call him great, or even really good? Probably not.

Again, I"m not shitting on harris. I just think we should wait to crown him.
