Things like this are incredibly weak talking points in a discussion.

Why?

For some reason you cant be a very good QB to some of you unless you throw for 300+ yards a game.

It's pretty simple, you dont have to throw it 30-40 times a game to be considered good.

We do agree that he's had a great season given the opportunities. He's simply not a top tier QB. I'm not sure that the SEC has one of those this year (outside of perhaps Dak).

I think the whole thread is about showing to this point, this year, Harris is in the top tier of SEC QBs. That's what the article and most of the discussion has been about thus far.

Wouldn't it be advantageous to have a more balanced offensive attack?

If Brandon can shred teams through the air while giving 4net a break, don't you think it be wise to call those plays? Why run your prize horse into the ground every game if the quarterback is capable of airing it out with the best of them?

Why give off the impression that you're one dimensional, if you're not? Have Les and Cam been playing possum for seven weeks?

And you don't have to shoot it 20 times/game to be a good basketball player. But it's weird how the best players end up shooting it 20 times.

You're trying to nitpick brah. Harris has the physical tools to be one of the top 3 qb prospects his senior year. That makes him a first round talent.

Because it's not reality. I mean, say you have a RB who gets 10 carries a game and rushes for like 80 yards. It wouldn't be a valid point in a real discussion to say "oh yeah, well...if he got 35 carries a game he'd break records left and right!!!"

We dont' have a clue what would happen if harris threw it 40 times a game. Nor is that relevant at all considering he isn't doing that.

then people would have no reason at all to doubt him.

Why are you downplaying his performance vs UF? They have a great defense.

By referencing the English language? You are the only one in this thread continuing to say Harris is a 1st round talent. Ie, he could potentially go in the 1st round of the draft. I bet even if you surveyed your own fans nobody aside from the lunatic fringe would think the same way.

So Harris isn't as good of QB as Fournette is RB?

ya don't say?

Sure. He's in the top half of SEC QBs. Is that top tier? Is he in the top 3? Eh. Maybe. Is it a down year for QB in the SEC? Yes.

Where did I downplay it? In fact where did I say anything negative about harris period? I've been nothign but complimentary abotu him this entire thread. All I'm saying is I dont think he's AS GOOD as lsu fans are making him out to be.

Harris is a sophomore. I don't think it's fair to say or not say that he has potential 1st round talent. We just don't know enough yet.

Dumb comparison.

We're talking about THE QB, not a backup who spells another guy for 5-10 carries a game. Harris is the only one throwing the football for us.

Are you really trying to say if he threw it about 15 times more per game he suddenly would be much worse?

He's not throwing it more because of the coaches being afraid he won't be as good as he's been, he's not throwing it more simply because we have the best RB in the country the coaches want to wear opposing defenses out with.

Let's take that a logical step further. Harris isn't nearly as good a QB as Fournette is a RB. Then it all starts to become a little more clear.

I'm saying you, I, nor anyone else knows wtf would happen becuase it isn't real. It's a made up situation. What if he played in a miek leach TT air raid offense and threw if 55 times a game, how would he be then? Who knows, doesn't matter does it?

Why would you need to trot out Cyclops more than necessary when you have Wolverine?

I mean, he looked good Saturday. Outside of the stats. You just had to pay attention to the little things, which most don't when it's not "their team".

Ed is right. He was hitting guys in the number, he damn enar breaks receivers hands he throws it so hard, he's going through multiple reads, he's checking down, and he puts great touch on the ball. He is something to be excited about.

1st round talent? idk. I think the natural talent is there, for sure.

He's in his first year starting as a sophomore, of course it's a bit of a bold claim. Several coaches, recruiting experts, etc. said he has an NFL arm. That type of praise is usually given to players who have a shot at making the first round. With his mobility and height, it's very possible. You don't have to put up video game stats. Look at Connor Cook.

So becuase he can throw hard, he could go in the first round? Tyler Bray had a cannon too.
