great memory. That run is still untouched seeding wise I think. Beat #7,3,2,1 iirc.

off thread. The after victory party at Ruth Chris on college when the team got back to town, wow what a night

After Kentucky it's Florida I'm guessing. Arkansas has a few but only a couple in the SEC as I recall.

Its Kentucky-16, Arkansas-6, Florida-5, LSU-4, MSU & UGA each with 1.

NC's for each school are Kentucky - 8, Florida - 2, Arkansas - 1. These are also the only schools to reach the title game.

UGA beat the defending National Championship UNC team led by Michael Jordan to make our only Final Four. Oddly enough it was the year after Dominique Wilkins left...

UNC's roster that year...

Michael Jordan
Sam Perkins
Matt Doherty
Brad Daugherty
Buzz Peterson

That's right. LSU won one of the first ever college basketball postseason playoffs, albeit in the pre-NCAA tourney era.

Uhh Grant can recruit, that honestly is one thing he can do well. His main problem is puting together a team that can knows how to win and shoot well on a consistent basis. Defense was strong, but this year, it's taken a big step back. Getting killed on the backboards has been an issue too.

Don Redden to Chris Blanton

Wasn't it Ricky Blanton not Chris? MSU sucked in the 80's,so as a high schooler I watched a lot of LSU. Don Redden, Ricky Blanton, Bernard Woodside, Daryl Joe, John Williams, Jose Vargas, Fess Irvin, Derrick Taylor, Oliver Brown, Nikita Wilson, and the Mississippi Boys Chris Jackson and Vernell Singleton bring back good memories. It seemed they'd be like 20-14, and get a 10 or 11 seed and at least get to the Elite 8 every year. The good ol days.
