His record at Freeport from 1926-1930 was 66-21 and he was coming off a third place finish at the state tournament when UK made the call to bring him to Lexington. Let's look at how that hire of an "unproven" coach turned out! Mark Pope's college experience beats Rupp's by a mile....

It's easy. Barnhart (the KY AD) and Calipari fell out a couple of years ago and basically Barnhart froze out Calipari from NIL. Probably will take $14-15 mil per to get him in Lexington plus $50 mil+ NIL for players, and a practice facility. I sure hope that next SEC TV deal is a doozy to pay for all of this…...
