Exactly, and that's exactly what those teams mentioned do not bring.
As I said, they'll never get in and are in very real danger of being left out of the party if the Big 12 doesn't last.

-First off, West Virginia already tried to get in the ACC and SEC and neither conference wanted anything to do with them. They are lower down on the academic list, and we aren't overly concenrned with the Pittsburgh market.
-Oklahoma won't come without Oklahoma State because of lawmakers in the state, and Oklahoma receives the second most amount of tv revenue in the Big 12
-The Big 12 won't implode simply because nobody wants Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, or West Virginia. All of those schools know that and will continue to suck the tit of Texas and Oklahoma.
-With the ACC at 14, plus the 5 contractual games with Notre dame, and a 20 million dollar buyout, they are well positioned right now. The could add Uconn on a moments notice.
-I see the Big 12 adding BYU,Central Florida, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Memphis, or East Carolina. Any of those schools have big media market and recuriting potential. Plus, they would get over the 12 team hump for a championship game.
I just don't see anybody the SEC would have a chance at other than Virginia Tech and Virginia as a joint group, but you still have the 20 million dollar buyout. The SEC wouldn't want both, but that might be the only way. TCU would also be a stretch, but it would get more viewers from the metroplex.

The only teams worth adding are North Carolina and Virginia. Everything else is either not possible or redundant/not worth it.

There are 3 Big 12 schools with any value and none are good options because you can't get any of them as a standalone.
Texas-This would completely lock up the entire State of Texas for the SEC and they are worth enough to justify having a 2nd Texas school. There are about a dozen reasons why this won't happen though. Texas is the ultimate bad business partner and the SEC has 3 members that essentially came to the SEC in part to get away from them. They also are tied to 3 schools in Texas that bring almost no value and they have a poison pill with the LHN. Oh, and they truly do believe that no school is in their class and that all should bow down to them. I mean, they really and truly thought A&M could not survive if somehow we did not play them anymore.
OU-Pretty decent fit on many levels though not AAU and don't really bring much market wise. Problem is they are tied to OSU and there is no scenario it makes sense to get OSU and OU together.
KU-Actually a nice little asset on its own. An AAU school that brings a few TV sets and markets and is an elite basketball school. They are tied to KSU though which is a non starter and they would be a horrific cultural fit. Unlike Mizzou and Kentucky which are border schools, Kansas is pure Midwestern and would truly stick out like a sore thumb. Mainly though the KSU thing kills this.
The LOL additions:
WVU-Terrible academics, minimal TV sets, and a horrific reputation as the worst fanbase in college football. If your school openly runs ads trying to get people to stop burning couches around football games then that is a bad, bad thing. No.
Baylor-Small Christian school that up until a few years ago was a true joke. Small fanbase and very fickle. In their old stadium they had a decade pass with a tarp in their end zone that was such a fixture people actually thought it was permanent. This was a 45k stadium btw. New stadium is nice but the same size. They start losing at all and Baylor falls into mediocrity. Also not an AAU school or anything special academically, well known in Texas as the place where rich parents with kids that can't get in to A&M or Texas send their children for "half the education at twice the cost!"
TCU-Really? I mean really? Similar academics to Baylor (not AAU) and has about as many living alumni as A&M has current students (in all seriousness). They are propped up by a few very wealthy old money families in Fort Worth and the fact they struck gold with hiring Patterson. Next time you think of TCU realize this is how many people they pulled for a conference game in their 45k stadium:

That photo looks like the TAMU Missouri game. When half of the Aggie fans did not come back after half time. And they were winning !!!!

UNC is the ACC genius. They absolutely will not leave that conference while it exists.
The only SEC school that UVA thinks is on its academic level is Vandy. They ain't coming either.
