Florida sucked once. Ole Miss sucked once.

The state of Florida added 12 million people in population between 1970 and 2010 (3rd nationally). The state of Mississippi added just 750,000 people during the same 40-year period (34th nationally).

From 1970-2010, here are how each of the states in the SEC footprint and how many people they added to their population (national rank):

#3 Florida- 12,010,000
#4 Georgia- 5,100,000
#10 Tennessee- 2,780,000
#12 South Carolina- 2,030,000
#19 Alabama- 1,340,000
#20 Missouri- 1,310,000
#25 Kentucky- 1,120,000
#28 Arkansas- 990,000
#30 Louisiana- 890,000
#34 Mississippi- 750,000

This is the #1 reason why Florida has improved the most of any program since 1970, and Ole Miss had declined the most of any program since 1970.

Also worth noting...

Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska are all in the bottom half of the USA in population growth since 1970. This is part of the reason those programs have struggled relative to their strength in the 1960s and 1970s.

I'll bet you tailgate coacktails at the next UGA/ Ole Miss game that Little will not get drafted as high as Tunsil...and I'll give you the push. Deal?

I bet that if Little stays 4 years, he will be a 1st Rounder. That's about all you can ask for.
