You're young and haven't been following Ole Miss or SEC football very long. Do you realize that State won 10 games last year, and Ole Miss won 9 this year. According to history, these seasons, for both teams, are an anomaly. Ole Miss will step back next year, back to reality, as they say. This year's OM team lost to a fired up Memphis team that's full of 2 star recruits. Don't overreact

It drives me crazy when people use this line of thinking, and not just with sports. Just started "Last Man On Earth" and it reminded me of this conversation that OM rivals love to hide behind. The last woman on earth freaks out because the last man on earth parks in a handicap parking spot. For decades, parking in a handicap parking spot was wrong. Actually think about why it is wrong instead of being lazy with your brain. It is wrong because a handicap person may need that spot, but if there is no handicap people, or any other people on the planet, a social rule that has stood for decades means absolutely nothing.

Look at Oregon. What happened? Something changed their program and that something was money. Money allows them to buy better facilities which attract better athletes and better athletes win more games, more wins means even better athletes and the snow balls begins. OM is recruiting at a level it has never done before, so how can their previous history have any relevance on their future?

The same exact argument yall loved to make about the egg bowl and home field advantage. You didnt care that out of the decade long of home field dominance in the game, the better team won 8 out of 10. That is not some magical occurrence that allows the home team to win every year, its just football and if teams are close then the home team has the edge, otherwise, the majority of the time the better team wins the game, but yes, sometimes, maybe twice a decade, the lesser team wins, you know, because it's sports.

Has Engram said he is coming back? I would think he would be a candidate to leave as I don't think he would really improve his draft stock much by coming back for a year. (Probably a 3rd rounder or so either way).

He and Fadol asked for a draft grade. He is on the fence and I think you are right, if he gets a 3rd round grade, he bolts. Only way he can drastically help his stock is by putting on 15lbs and actually having a productive year. He was non-existent for the most point this year.

This.

What about Florida pre-Spurrier? Did opposing fans say the same shite about them? They sure turned out to be wrong.

I never bought into the home field advantage stuff,..wasn't me. History is a bitch for both programs and strides have been made. I'm enjoying that and so should you.

I can't believe you guys are actually using Oregon and Florida for comparison purposes to prop yourselves up.

This year's team would win next year's west with ease.

yes, a team with 3 losses this year would just coast through the west

I think last year's State team would have won the west this year. Now give me my dadgum trophy.

I wish we could hire their recruiting coordinator away from them. There isn't much information on Ole Miss's website about him. Black Bear fans, how long has "Frankin, B." been on staff? Does he leave his bifocals and electricity discovering kites with recruits on visits? I'm sure that's a recruiting violation, but it's a nice touch.

Two points- 1) there are more football players in Clay County than there are in entire state of Mississippi. So a much easier turn around. and 2) Florida cheated their arse off, so poor example.

No doubt, why in the next 5 or so years they might even split another division title and hang another "we didn't go to Atlanta" banner.

Means absolutely nothing IRL projecting to the future.

it actually kind of does. historical success doesn't matter as much to kids, but recent success does. ole miss has neither

Nope, facilities are good. Stadium is being reworked this off-season. Oxford, MS does not require a 80K+ seat stadium now or ever.

yes, for ole miss they are good, but compared to the big 6 they're very average and even after the new expansion
quote:

OMG racist kids, never seen those before.

ole miss also regularly makes headlines. if it's nbd, why are y'all so concerned with your positive pr campaigns, getting rid of colonel reb, banning the rebel flag at the stadium, etc. ole miss is absolutely concerned with their perceived identity, whether it's accurate or not

why are ole miss fans so confident he returns? serious question. yeah, he didn't have a great season but still managed to find himself on an all american team

could easily declare for the draft as well.

Problem for ole miss is it is to expensive to buy the depth required to win big in the SEC.

You should go take a look at Ole Miss's current recruiting class. Depth to win championships If it holds together.
