Doesn't matter what LSU fans think. The SEC recognizes the 2003 season as a co-championship in the SEC West. Period. In the record books. Take it up with the SEC Office if you're anal enough to still have a problem with it.
We all understand. We all just think it is a disgrace you display it in your stadium. We have co-sec west championships as well, as do other schools, but we dont put the banner in our stadiums

Then why did Ole Miss remove the "co" from it?

There are lots of things you do in Tiger Stadium that I wouldn't be proud of. I've been to games there.

It's not even a legit claim, and it looks dumb as frick having one single division "championship" hanging up in your stadium by itself.

As do other SEC schools in the Big 6. But I'm sure they aren't recognized in those stadiums either. Simply put, it's all relative.

This is no different than TCU saying they won the Big 12 last year.

Again, this is very incorrect and shows your ignorance of American and Southern history.

Heh. Another Civil War/Civil Rights Thread: And George Wallace didn't stand in the doorway at the Capstone. Give it a frickin' rest.

That's my favorite part.

They think it is some big troll on LSU fans.

We don't care. It makes them look bad.

I say leave it up.

I could respect this if it were true. But I think (well I hope) you know that this banner is the only thing yall have to hang your hat on in the las 50 years. Why not just own that you guys are proud of it? You had a great year, but a team in your division was better...in fact, a team in your division won the National Championship that year. You were good, LSU was better.

I suppose there is no point in mentioning that the SEC considers Ole Miss the 2003 West Co-Champion. The tie break does not determine the champion, it determines who gets to represent the Division in Atlanta. Unlike the old rules that hamstrung the Big 12, there can be NO conference co-champion.

But reading is hard.

It actually makes my life better.

Anything that makes Ole Miss look stupid is alright in my book.

Serious question to Ole Miss fans......How many awkward conversations has this "banner" led to from visiting fans?

You know how it goes when chatting with visiting fans who don't know your programs history.

Visiting fan..."I noticed ya'll won the SEC West in 2003...how did ya'll do in the SEC championship game"?

LOle Miss fan..."well...you see....mmmm....Eli...well...it's kinda complicated".

LSU beat every team in the SEC West that year, including Ole Miss, in Oxford. *Ole Miss hangs banner claiming west championship.
