co-championship in the SEC West

2003 SEC Champs and 2003 National Champions checking in. You think we actually care that the SEC West Championship is split with little old Ole Miss.

No, this is like hanging your participation awards on your wall even though you never actually did anything.

I suppose there is no point in mentioning that the SEC considers Ole Miss the 2003 West Co-Champion. The tie break does not determine the champion, it determines who gets to represent the Division in Atlanta. Unlike the old rules that hamstrung the Big 12, there can be NO conference co-champion.

No one has said y'all weren't co-champions. Its just sad that y'all act like its some type of accomplishment

Serious question to Ole Miss fans......How many awkward conversations has this "banner" led to from visiting fans?

You know how it goes when chatting with visiting fans who don't know your programs history.

Visiting fan..."I noticed ya'll won the SEC West in 2003...how did ya'll do in the SEC championship game"?

This only happens on the SECr.

The SEC recognizes the 2003 season as a co-championship in the SEC West. Period. In the record books.

that's certainly true; however, i can't think of another school with such a prominent display inside their stadium of division titles, of which ole miss has one shared division title

You poor bastards.

What's pathetic is that you recognize a "division co-championship" - much less you feel the need to brag about it by hanging a sign...

...or starting a thread about it.

Have some self respect.

A classic little brother move.
Everyone who goes to a game will look up at that and either face palm or shake their head and say to the person to their right,"Poor Ole Miss, has it come to this".

Are Bama fans now into lecturing other fanbases about claiming championships?

But reading is hard.

no one is saying you weren't co-division champs. they're saying it should be embarrassing to have a prominent permanent display inside your stadium commemorating a pretty mundane accomplishment, given you didn't even make it to atlanta. even if you had made it to atlanta, displaying a huge division champ banner covering half the endzone is embarrassing in and of itself.

But why would you even want to hang that banner up in your stadium? You lost to LSU that year and didn't go to Atlanta. For any serious program that would be embarrassing

Seriously, Zook won an Ole Miss title one year, to celebrate we fired him.

I don't see Bama claiming "co-division titles".

Well, we claim Championships.
We don't claim co-Championships.
Such a wantabee move on the Bears.
