I worked in Memphis for a couple of years, and grew up close to it. I don't really hate it. I just like making fun of it.

An Ole Miss lose to Memphis would be a... wait for it... Holy Toledo... moment.
Meaning a loss that when you look back at it doesn't look so bad given how the team is playing.
I think Memphis gives the BlackRebelBears a game but falls short given their horrible defense. Still, a lose to Memphis is nothing to sneer at. Fuentes has built a very scary program there.

they play memphis because it's a rivalry, not for exposure. memphis is an hour from oxford. hugh freeze coached high school football in memphis for 15 years or so. they get plenty of exposure in the city. the local news even covers ole miss sports
