When your choices are Jackson and Memphis, the latter looks like Utopia.

People said the same about Temple/Penn State earlier this year... Penn State fans will drown out Temple fans even though its a Temple home game

Comparing a small private school to a city's big public university is apples to oranges.

Lastly, why the hell do you play shitty OOC games on the road?

The Liberty Bowl has been the home field for UT, OM, and Memphis for several decades. We used to always play OM at the Liberty Bowl and never in Oxford (I think last year may have been the first time we've been to Oxford in decades). In fact, a lot of baby boomer fans thought we'd be playing in Memphis when our game against OM came up.

IOW, they've been playing in Memphis for a long arse time, including playing us in Memphis. And why not? For a very long time Oxford couldn't handle the crowds and of course with integration happening in the state of Tennessee first that also had an impact on OM playing here against both UT and U of Memphis.

Well, Memphis was ranked at the end of last season.

Let's really look at this.

- Memphis is ranked 22nd in the nation. Can Florida claim they play a ranked OOC opponent?
- This is a regional game in a recruiting area that feeds Ole Miss so it makes sense to play the game. Unfortunately, Memphis will see this as their Super Bowl (ie. the chants during the Cincy game)
- Yes Memphis has a good offense but they really haven't played a good defense yet. It will be a good test prior to playing aTm for Ole Miss D (I refuse to call them LandSharks until they step up their play)
- Lastly, their D is ranked 103rd in the nation. Dig deeper and see their passing D is ranked 117th. The firm of Swag, Quon Et. Al. should have banner day.

So the answer to your trol....question is yes if you look at is superficially but no if you dig into it deeper.

Jackson, Oxford, Memphis?

Memphis all day long. Now it might just feel like a D1 game vs. a high school setting.

I personally think Temple should be ranked over Houston, but not necessarily Memphis. Temple is the only undefeated team left in the nation that isn't ranked on one of the polls.

Terrible defense and the one semi decent defense they've faced (USF) gave their offense trouble. Plus there will be more Ole Miss fans than Memphis fans at the game.

Short answer. No

Basically this.

Lynch is a great QB and I would not be suprrised if they somehow won, but the score would have to be 48-42 or something.

Memphis does not win this game scoring in the 30s

Looking forward to the matchup. Ain't skeered.

I'm bow hunting that morning and setting up shop in the recliner for the duration. Look forward to the ABC broadcast with the blonde they've got on the sidelines. Laura whoever...

Ole Miss and Memphis (State) have been playing since the '20's. Record is 44-10 and a few ties in favor of OM. They have no natural rival, since they were independent for so long. When they were in C-USA, they didn't develop one, either. They do want to beat us more than any team on their schedule. But, no, our players aren't afraid of their players.

Ole Miss is not afraid of Memphis. They know they have to bring the A game with the Tigers, but they are more than ready!

Cautiously nervous, but not afraid. We have the talent and the coaching to beat Memphis. Yes, they are good. So is Ole Miss!

I mean, it's a new season but they did beat Temple on the road last year, and have like the 4th or 5th longest active winstreak.

You guys played in Oxford during the Coach O years I believe (may have been Nutt). I was there.
