Hey Hog, Auburn is definitely not a small school. I don't have the numbers, but I believe that Auburn is bigger than Arky

For basketball? They are one of the smallest in the conference

Ultimate is having fun jumping between discussing small basketball schools/ small schools in general by whichever he can use to try and prove his point.

Gonna be a badass arena. Can't wait to catch an Egg Bowl on the hardtop game there.

For sure, Bama is no different than OM or Auburn, they will never draw 10K+ to warrant that big of arena despite being big schools overall.

Need it for gymnastics. You all have such small gymnastic schools. Nothing wrong with that.

Incorrect, Arkansas is bigger by a few hundred students, based on 2014 numbers.

It's about 25,900 for Auburn and 26,200 for Arkansas.

Four comments.

First, it's really nice.

Second, I hope there isn't glass like that on the South end, that will wreak havoc with the sun on the court. I do see that there will be a club level on that end towards the garage, so probably not. Still might with that SW corner.

Third, the Pavilion was built so close to Vaught Hemingway that it looks like there no room for any expansion on that side of VHS. I'm not sure if OM could even renovate the pressbox with them so close together.

Fourth, per the bottom pic, there are SO many club level seats and a good many student seats. I wonder how many non-club level non-students are left?

Well it's only gonna hold 9,500 so not really.

Why build more seats? It's actually well thought out.

Spacious seats = comfort
Comfort = wanting to go to game and not watch from home/bar.
More fans = better team.

Why build something just to say "oh, we can fit 20k?"
Ole Miss is in Oxford, MS with Jackson being 2.5 hours away, Memphis an hour away, Tupelo 45 minutes away, etc. It's tough for schools in small, isolated cities to fill the stands, especially mid-week games. Nowadays, no one wants to drive two and a half hours on a saturday to sit in a seat with no leg room and a 300 lb guy taking up half of your already small seat. I like that we are going quality over quantity. We are focusing on our limitations. There is nothing we can and ever will be able to do about putting more than 10k in our basketball stadium.

The pic does not do it justice from what I remember walking between the two during the fall. I think they brought it closer to include the football stadium, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I agree. The renderings do make it out to be a little closer than it actually feels.

There were some lines leaving the stadium on that side this year, but that was mainly due to construction fences.
