SEC academics are a joke.

Half of the SEC are better academically than OU. So what that say about OU?

I don't want OU at all but it wouldn't surprise me if the SEC gets okie state and OU and make the 4 team pod system.

Texas and Oklahoma oil companies already own all the Gulf oil revenues, so we have no desire to join anybody else. Also, we have the sins of your father residing in our state (Native Americans).

OU wouldn't survive being independent.

SEC academics are a joke. Hell, you still have people pushing for segregation down there. At least Oklahoma's Heismans are all from OK.
I'm sure your degree from OU gives you so much of an advantage in the workforce over those peons from Texas A&M, UGA, Alabama, and Auburn.

How many Big XII teams do you see high on this list?

Unfortunately they are package deal with Oklahoma State and probably Texas. And Texas is fricking cancer.

A package deal with Okie, Okie Lite, and the Bevos?

If that's all we can do then we need to leave well enough alone.

IF we expand, it MUST be to a populous state or states where we have no base territory. North Carolina and Virginia would work.
UNC and UVA are pipe dreams. NC State could happen but I'm not sure we want another little brother.

WVU might be the most realistic option if the Big XII does collapse

Bevo would never join the SEC and all their fans I've talked to are saying they want to go independent.

ACC is getting a great tv deal and the buyout to get a team out now is very brutal. Nobody is going to leave the ACC.

Only way I'd go for this is to have the chance to beat Stoops every year. He hates on the SEC more than any coach out there

They have the biggest tv contracts. Do they not?

They have the biggest Teir 1 contract. Their contract with Fox is better than our contract with CBS.

But the SEC network money (tier 3) make it up for us

gotcha. That's just weird when you think about the population of their states.

14 teams is too awkward of a number. We'll go to 16 eventually. It could be a result of us somehow convincing a couple North Carolina and Virginia schools to ditch the ACC (less likely) or the Big XII collapsing and us taking a few of their members (more likely), but it'll eventually happen.

The population that the SEC reaches is probably bigger than the B1G's footprint. Texas and Florida alone combine for over 47 million people. We don't have as large of a monopoly on our states, but the general footprint is huge. Add a North Carolina and/or Virginia school (which is likely the goal) and it's insane.

If the Big 12 folds then Texas will probably have to go Independent because I don't see another conference giving in to their demands and kissing their a$$ like they seem to think is their birthright.

If taking Oklahoma is a package deal with Oklahoma State then even taking Texas out of the deal it would not be attractive. Taking one school from a state the size of Oklahoma wouldn't be smart and taking two would be downright stupid.

Oklahoma is Southern and Western, and definitely not Midwestern.

There were Native American tribes in Oklahoma who fought for the Confederacy. Stand Watie, the last Confederate general to surrender, was a Cherokee general in Oklahoma.

Ever heard of the Buffalo Soldiers?

The state would never let OU leave Okie State out to dry. Only way OU joins without Okie State is Okie state is able to join another big conference and they play OU every year. That would mean OU would have to play texas and Oklahoma state ooc every year.
