The state of OK was settled by settlers from LA, AR, and MS after the civil war in the land run. History books are interesting things.

Oklahoma may have been settled post civil war but until the railroads came through in the 1880's. The real population boom came in the early 1900's with the OK oil boom.

Many OU fans want to join the SEC. I'm one of them. We fit culturally, we respect the conference, and most of all, how awesome it would be on Saturday afternoons to watch OU play at Florida, LSU, TN, Bama, and all the other great stadiums.
Problem is, we probably can't move until the GOR is up, which is about 6 years. So we're stuck in this deal until then.

Grant of Rights ends in 2025. You still have 8 years, not 6.
