I get the "what have you done for me lately" dominates a power ranking but the opponents should be factored in.
A&M is about to play two OOC cupcakes and MSU. If we dominate all 3 of those games and Bama loses to LSU we should jump Bama in this kind of ranking because of how we look against terrible teams?

Everybody we have played except #3 and #9 in the nation.
ETA both polls have Auburn ranked ahead of UT.

I also think Tennessee is the 4th best team in the SEC based on what I've seen. Arguably the 3rd. They still don't have any good wins.

They do get factored in, but losing by 40 points even to Bama matters. Especially when Tenn was lucky to not lose by 20 against TAMu

Not necessarily. There are times where a team has a bad day, but a bad day for a good team doesn't mean get dominated.
If TAMU beats the "SW University of the Directionally Challenged" 70-0 that isn't enough to jump them over a 17-13 Alabama loss.
By say week 11 though, TAMU beating Auburn is nearly inconsequential for power rankings. Same for Auburn > LSU etc

A&M's best win is what? A banged up UT (lol double-OT; lol missing 7 defensive starters)? LOLArkansas? LOLAuburn was terrible when you beat them? This game is stupid. We could do it all day with every team.

That's kind of my point. I don't really understand the mindset of putting say Auburn over A&M just because A&M recently lost to Bama and Auburn beat Arky badly.
