I've always thought Pinkel was a very good coach. Now everyone is about to see how good he was, because he brought Missouri up from some really bad years.

Very sorry to hear this, though it came as no surprise. Coach Pinkel is/was a credit to his profession.

Absolutely sucks. But good for Pinkel to get away from the mess and focus on himself.
All of those BLM folks on Twitter today bashing him over a Tuesday interview, namely that Deray baiter should be ashamed of themselves.

It seems strange the timing though. Not a peep is said about anything at all health related, then missouri turns itself into a national laughing stock with football players going on strike and making demands of the administration, now he's unwell. Idk.
It's like when JoePa had shite go down at Penn st then he got cancer and was dead within two months

and it is health related
so basically he's going out spinning, much like he has spent his entire career doing...
way to go out like a true hero Pinkel..

bullshite, he's not walking away from a 4 million dollar paycheck because he's sick, he's being forced out, only an idiot would think otherwise.

You truly are a massive piece of shite. The statement from Pinkel pretty clearly maps out that he's still fighting cancer and with all that was going on he couldn't keep managing it.
Sitting here calling it spin and still talking shite about the man. You're easily one of the worst posters on this site.

Pulling a "Meyer" does not seem like his style.
you don't know much about Pinkel, he has been dodgeing the reality of his idiotic decisions non stop, he'll go out the door claiming he "did the right thing", even though everybody knows he didn't.
Pinks can't handle the truth.

So sorry, Mizzou. Cancer sucks. T&P's to Pinkel, his family, the Mizzou family and everyone who is affected by this horrible news.

if you mean the football team, the ones backing the protest won't even realize what happened, they are clueless.

So sorry to hear that. He is a really good coach, not to mention seems to be a good human being.

This sounds like the administration urged him to go ahead and announce his resignation to fire up the team and hopefully get a couple more wins.
If he made the decision weeks ago, why announce it now?

yes exactly, why now?
he says he still feels fine, even though he hints about the PET scan having something to do with it.
ask yourself if the team were 9-0 and there was no turmoil over protests and the football team striking if this would have come out now.
obviously not.

Hey if nothing else he is changing the news that is coming out of COMO. It is Gary based and not idiot protestor based. The narrative nationally is now about Pinkel resigning instead of those protestor douchers.

it's good news, but he'll do nothing to change the narrative that he "did the right thing" supporting his players and getting the President fired. Pinkel is avoiding the consequences of his horrid decisions of the past week, and now he will avoid interviews like the one he did w/ Keitzmann the other day, hoping to skate out the retirement door w/out ever having to face the reality of his poor choice.
