So he has a lot in common with his mentor, Steve Spurrier.

They're identical. Sam program culture, for better or worse, that Spurrier had at Florida.

What competitive advantages does OU have over LSU that would cause Aranda to leave?

No Saban in the conference so you could actually be the top program in the conference.

I think there are a number of people who find Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana kinda gross. Norman is boring though.

It also just seems that the environment at LSU would be more cutthroat than OU. It seems like the fans in Baton Rouge would turn on you quicker than the would in Norman.

Bottom line is that OU is a big time program and it can pay for a big time coach. To most outsiders, this is six of one or half a dozen of the other.

publisher at OU 247 site said health related - recent heart condition found. Dad died on the field at 54 years old coaching.

This is the correct answer.

Scandal incoming.

Must be health related. He wouldn't be staying with the University if it was anything other than that, IMO.

You're confusing Urban Meyer's Florida with Steve Spurrier's Florida.

So, Bob Stoops and Chip Kelly could both possibly be on the market after next season. Butch better have a good year.

Seems odd to leave this close to the season, something happened.
