publisher at OU 247 site said health related - recent heart condition found.

Dad died on the field at 54 years old coaching.

Aranda is already the highest paid assistant in college football at 1.3 million/year.
He also knows that he's next in line for a head coaching spot at LSU if Coach O doesn't work out.
OU has no legitimate shot at pulling Aranda away.

OU wins softball.

Stoops retires next day.

Sooners must be cutting football to give that softball coach a big fat extension.

A real out of left field stunner... but why not?

I mean he won a national title at Oklahoma. He's rich as can be. Oklahoma was starting to move into the great record but not great team area. Why not call it quits and enjoy the good life?

Stoops can probably land a decent ESPN talking head job to bring in some extra cash without having to commit to very many office hours. I for one would dearly love to be able to sit back on stacks of cash up to my eyeballs at his age.

I hate for college football to lose a great coach, but he ran his program like a piece of shite. Beat a woman a couple of times and get a scholarship to Oklahoma.

This is one of the most delusional posts I have ever seen.

ETA: Oh. I thought you were talking about HC at OU. Never mind then. I apologize. I wouldn't leave LSU for the same position at OU

OU can pay more and just got a massive facility upgrade.

I just love it when dumbfricks make these kind of statements like they are the ones scratching out the checks. Reminds me of all those Texas fans saying UT could hire Saban by offering more money. I swear to God some people are just idiots. Last time I checked both Aranda and Saban are at the top of their professions pay scale.

if it's not health related, then it has to be due to the constant bitching and moaning of Kevin and Kyler Murray.

Not this year, but maybe next year if Coach O's first season has some setbacks.

Maybe we can finally bring him home in a couple of years if Mac doesn't work out.

What competitive advantages does OU have over LSU that would cause Aranda to leave?

-LSU has one of the most envious recruiting situations in the country. Oklahoma isn't in the same stratosphere.

-Incredible facilities and committed to paying their coaches top $$

-Best conference in CFB.

-Amazing fan support

At best it's a wash in some areas when comparing programs and in other areas LSU is better than OU. I would be shocked if Aranda left for OU. Again, That's not a shot at OU, but there are very few programs in the country with more built in advantages than what LSU has. Oklahoma is not one of those schools.
