This has been coming for a while now. Hence Riley was told of his extension and raise a while back to keep him through the spring. As everybody here already knows stoops was a legend but had lost his drive and wasn't really involved in recruiting much anymore. Riley makes the most sense as replacement however I wouldn't rule out Aranda, or chip Kelly from what I've been hearing.

Talk about a meteoric rise for Lincoln Riley. I followed him when I lived in NC and he was OC at ECU. His offenses there were fun to watch and I really hoped Georgia would go hard after him as OC.

Now he is the head coach at OU and I will spend this season hoping Jim Chaney amasses more offensive yards than teriyaki chicken wings this year. Life sometimes...

It sounds like he was just ready to hang it up and enjoy his life.

His son was just accepted to play for northwestern and they purchased a mansion in Chicago a couple weeks ago. This was expected once his kids were all graduated he always said he was done and didn't want to end up like his dad. He's had several surgeries in the past couple years for skin anomalies so I wouldn't doubt if that has something to do with it too.

Riley now gets to hire a DC, I expect them to contact aranda and throw some serious cash at him.

Doea Aranda have ties to OU or Riley?

I don't mean this as a shot at OU, but Oklahoma isn't a better job than LSU IMO. On the surface it doesn't make sense why he would take the same position at another school unless he's close with Riley or getting a monumental raise.

OU can pay more and just got a massive facility upgrade. Riley is the top offensive mind in the game also, why would he stay at LSU over OU?

So he has a lot in common with his mentor, Steve Spurrier.

Either scandal or health.

Or he is coming to be an assistant at UK, which is likely the case.

Where will all the questionable character guys go to play P5 football?

NCAA left Oxford and went to Norman for the next victim.

How old was CUM when he faked his health issues?

I am guessing it is more the Les Miles thing and Riley is OU's Yaw Yaw.
