He had 0.4 more tds a game 29 more yards a game is far more compelling then 0.4 more tds a game. Any player, coach, scout, gm, etc will tell you that

Let me make it simple for you. You keep pointing out Cooper had NINE more tds and only 30 less yards. Well, since Coop had 14 games, here was his totals like we already know:

124 Rec, 1727 yards, 16 tds, 13.9 yd/catch

Here is Reed in a 14 game season:

116 rec, 2130 yards, 12 tds, 18.36 yd/catch- If reed counted his bowl game he would already have an untouchable SEC record at 2,033 yards . Give him a 14th game, and he would have the NCAA record

What's the point of yards if they don't result in TDs. It's only a .4 difference but considering you can't realistically score 3000 TDs but instead 30 TDs it is still a significant difference.
I would also think that most on here would agree that Cooper is the better of the two. Reed should be higher but Cooper is better.

Yards have always been the more important statistic when dealing with Wide receivers and running backs. It is disingenuous to think differently.

Here are the top receivers this year in yards:

1. Julio
2. Brown
3. Hopkins
4. Marshall
5. Beckham

Here they are for tds:

1 Doug Baldwin
Brandon Marshall
Allen Robinson

4.Odell Beckham
Tyler Eifert

6.Eric Decker

You tell me which is a more accurate way to judge a receivers season

In fact, Baldwin, Marshall, and Robinson had 6 More TDS then Julio. Eifert had 5 more.

Tell me those guys had a better season then Julio

Do not you realize that since a player can rack way way more YDS than TDs the differences are so much different.
A ONE TD diffrence (1.4 TD more instead of .4) would've given Cooper 70 career TDs which would've shattered the NCAA career record. That's unrealistic. The smaller the number the smaller the average and this difference will be. So yes a .4 TD difference is rather significant. There's also a reason Cooper went with the 4th pick and Reed went in the 2nd RD.

None of those NFL players listed had comparable stats to Julio. Reed and Cooper had comparable numbers and similar years. Look I do think Reed should be higher but Cooper is better.

Yeh because Cooper will be alot better in the NFL. Still doesnt change the fact Reeds season was better

Just like Julio and Brown clearly had the best year in the NFL this year, even though they had multiple guys with a 0.4 td difference over them

All fine players. I'd have to find a place for the late, great Marquise Hill of LSU on that Dline. By the time LSU played OU for the '03 title, Hill was just as dominant as Spears and Lavalais. It's little wonder Saban is the dominant coach of his era when you look at that list and can easily think of another 50 outstanding players.

You'd think Alabama fans of all people wouldn't be the ones trying to downplay Reed as a player. I think he's still catching passes from Rohan Davey on their defense.

Henry over Trent, Eddie, Julio Jones, Dareus.. even Ingram tbh

Oh, and Cooper is just a better WR than Reed. DWI.

I don't recall anyone saying that Reed wasn't a great college player but to keep arguing that Reed deserves to be ahead of players that are multiple National champions, heisman winners,& higher draft picks when that is the criteria used to formulate the list is just plain dumb.

Julio, Eddie, Dareus were never 1st AAs. Henry smashed Trent's and Ingram's numbers along with winning 4 awards to their combined 2. Not to mention they probably played with much better OL.

TDs for WRs aren't easy to predict. It's a volatile stat from years to year. Julio is better than Baldwin. Teams would pick Julio over Baldwin. But after a season, if Baldwin has scored 10 more TDs than Julio, GMs would value that more(after the fact). If one team gets to pick the TD leaders at every position while the other team gets the yard leaders...who wins?

If this is the only thing out of that whole list that we disagree on, I'd say we're making progress :)
Julio and Amari and Josh are all
very good. How bout that. They excelled in different ways.

Yeah but are you still saying that Reed is better than Cooper and/or Julio?

Barrett Jones is a future College Football Hall of Famer.

Lol...don't be silly. Do yourself a favor...go to the CFHOF website and look at the criteria. Much of it is based on life after football. Former Walter Payton and Walter Camp Man of the Year Dwight fricking Stephenson, whom the Bear called the greatest player he ever coached, isn't in. The only way Jones gets into the HOF is by buying a ticket like you and me.

Do us a favor and post the criteria and tell us what part of the criteria you think Barrett Jones doesn't fit.
