Reed has the best receiving season in sec history. He has the 2nd best receiving career in Sec history.

I'm smoking facts
Reed has the #1 all time sec single season record for yards and yards per game
He is 5th all time in career yards, but 2nd all time in career yards per game
You were asking?

Bama has a better football program. What's your point?

My point and everyone else that have been trying to talk some sense into you is that you are overlooking parts of the criteria.
Winning pedigree and draft are figured into the results of the list yet you refuse to factor that in.
There are some players on that list that have multiple sec, & national championships along with heisman trophy winners as well as runner ups.

I understand exactly what the criteria is.

So it's all about YPG? He's outside the top 50 in TDs. He's 30 in career receptions. 5th in career yards(that's good). So where are you getting 2nd best career? And saying his 2001 season was better than Cooper in 2014 is a looooong stretch. I'll take 30 more catches and 9 more TDs, Offensive POTY, Heisman finalist any day over a handful of YPG.

The fact that Whitworth, Kyle Williams, and Laron Landry were left off of that list shows that its criteria is flawed at best.

(NOTE: players who reached peak performance after Saban left Michigan State or LSU — ex. Charles Rogers, LaRon Landry and Dwayne Bowe — do not qualify)

Reading comprehension does not seem to apply to the LSU fanbase.

That makes the criteria flawed. Laron was one of the best players on our defense in 2004, Saban's last year in BR, and started as a true freshmen on the 2003 national championship team. How is that not "peak performance?" I can understand Bowe's exclusion, but not Laron's.

LaRon Landry didn't make 1st Team All-SEC until 2005 and didn't make 1st Team All-American until 2006. Both seasons were after Saban had left for Miami.
Obviously that is pre-peak performance.

quote:Umm, let's go Lee game stats for those seasons:
And saying his 2001 season was better than Cooper in 2014 is a looooong stretch. I'll take 30 more catches and 9 more TDs,
Reed
8.3 rpg
152.2 ypg
18.3 ypr
0.84 TDpg
Cooper
8.9 rpg
123.4 ypg
13.9 ypr
1.2 TDpg
I'll take Reed. The 30 yards more a game is the biggest difference

You act like Cooper wasn't.
And no, 9 TDs is a much bigger difference than 28.8 ypg. The object of the game is to score.

Yeah, BJ might be the most accoladed player to ever play for the Crimson Tide. Or for Nick Saban, for that matter.

I agree.
I am curious as to what some of the other all time great college coaches top 50 list would look like compared to Saban's.

Barrett Jones is a future College Football Hall of Famer.
He was an All-American at two or three different positions in his four years as a starter. Plus he won both the Rimington and the Outland.
