Stiff punishment from gus, but fair. Time to move past this now.

You can't blame them, it would've been a circus of more bad press, and they aren't ready to handle that right now.

I don't think it's really a punishment for him. If anything, it's sparing the embarrassment of having to face the media on it.

eta, I think you were just joking

I have always heard there is a silver lining in everything. The Nick incident has turned the cracker into an LSU fan.

I think Uzomah's biggest role on this team is as designated interviewee. He's very well spoken. I remember at least one game (maybe Georgia) last season where right after the game they tried to talk with Marshall and he was like "um, der, yeah I just tried to go out dare and do my thang and I trode da ball real good." The reporter is like, um, ok, let's go to Cj Uzomah who had one big catch for 11 yards tonight, and then Uzomah is like "yeah everyone on the team fought really hard, and we believed in ourselves and tried to just execute coach's gameplan, yada yada yada"

I know. This is the year that Auburn takes their rightful place atop the West forever.

It looks worse pulling him then letting him address what happened and doing some damage control. Apologize for being a dumb arse and showing poor leadership to your team and university. Address the media up front, take the bull by the horns and be done with it. Admit you made a mistake and put it behind you.

I guarantee Clay Travis will still get an awful pot-related question in, whether Marshall is present or not.
