we won the East in 07. So only 7 years of irrelevance but good try. and we still never managed to go 4-8 in that span.

Just making sure. I'm sure Florida fans want to say it as much as they can for the next week and ahalf. They may not be able to after next Saturday. Not because UT is so scary, but because Florida is so bad.

Prior to establishing The Body Farm, the Forensic Anthropology Department was based in labs under Neyland Stadium. So, no buried bodies...but there were cadavers in rooms until the 70's or so.

We actually did keep them there well into the 90s for certain and I'm pretty sure even into the early 00s. The SO worked the farm and anthro. It was a closely kept secret then because we didn't need students knowing that there were bodies there (most thought it was rumor/legend). However, the cadavers kept at Neyland were there mainly for cleaning (some for gross human anatomy/dissection but mainly for cleaning). You have to clean the bodies before both and the farm at that time wanted less 'fresh' bodies if you get my meaning. One of the things that the farm and Dr. Bass has always been above and beyond at is Dr. Bass can take a tiny little fragment of a bone and tell you not only all about the victim (gender/age etc) but nutrition/lifestyle etc. and if he gets a few fragments he is like a freaking magician - nothing stops him (he's just that good).

Fresher bodies often went to the farm directly and some were/are used outside of the farm but still w/in UT's control so we can experiment with what happens to bodies in different environments (I really can't say more about that though). Hope that explains some things.

Neyland was the worst stadium I've experienced in the SEC. And I've been to Vandy.

Agreed. I was there for UT Jr. v. UF in 2006. Their biggest game of the year. Was not impressed.

I love the snow pic. Such a unique view of Auburn a long time ago.

Penn State. Tennessee opened at Georgia Tech but this was Penn State's opener.Oddly enough the played each other to END the season.Tennessee won the night game, 28-21 and the year before, 31-11.The losses to Tennessee were the only regular season losses Penn State had in 1971 and 1972.

Oh wow. I never would've guessed that one. Great info. I-59 Tiger.

It's something fans have been promoting since the OU game but I don't know if we'll do it. I think it would be pretty cool too since we have the endzones and such. But with our stadium seating so many I'm not sure if there's enough time to get the logistics together, hopefully there is.

I always like the setting. The seating was a bit tight back when they were filing the place up though. I guess people were smaller way back when it was built.
