Edit: Her gut is so big that pic always amazes me. Also how dated their clothes and style was. It is 1982 in what I assume was like 1999.
2001, actually for the first one. They'd just been blown the frick out by LSU in the SECCG.

HOLY shite!!!! see the guy standing just behind them, that is the one and Only DoUrden. That was taken in the Swamp the year after the LSU loss in the SECCG. I can't believe that pic is still out there.
If you could see the rest of it I am holding up a peace sign. I was across the isle from them and looked and was like "OH BOY" made my friend take the pic.

Florida-Tennessee game was in Knoxville in 2002.

Happy Birthday Neyland Stadium.
I heard there were bodies burried under the field,
any truth to that?
seriousely, only been there once and the atmosphere was awesome.

Then it had to be in 2003, there was a group of us UT/UF fans that hosted each other each year for the game. We all hooked up on Gator Country and eventually formed our own underground board.

You can thank Gen. Neyland for that. He's really underrated as an engineer despite all the accolades he won in the service as well as in the two wars. What makes the views so good, imo, is that he built a stadium that was steep but never far from the field. And yes, he designed the stadium we know today - all the way up to 100k and although it was completed in phases we followed his plans.
Modern engineers could and should take note of the design aspect there. I've been in much smaller stadiums/less high up where I've had to squint.

Appreciate the kind words. To me there's nothing better than watching a game in neyland. I really don't understand the haters. A seat is a seat, DWI.
As for the bodies, it's partly true. There is a forensic body farm on UTs campus, but it is nowhere near the stadium.

When were you there last and what side of the stadium? The west side is the next to be renovated, it's the side many visitors see. The parts that are already done are really nice

Yes but not anymore. The anthropology dept and gross human anatomy courses used to keep bodies underneath. Until very recently the lower levels of Neyland were used for everything from excess English Dept. Grad Student offices to Anthro offices and more. The bodies were kept there for a looooooooong time.
I could tell you more about what is hidden on campus but technically I'm not supposed to and it wouldn't be good if it ever got out to pranksters but I can say that bodies are no longer at the stadium so no worries there.
And thank you for the compliment on our atmosphere!

I'm afraid I don't. But I'm guessing our first night game was against LSU? Lemme know, please.

Yeah the concourses are dark and dreary and it has an old feel on the east side of the stadium but I love Neyland. Fun place to go watch Auburn play when we get the chance.
