Why does that ultimately matter?
Because they played him an entire season, if they thought anything was there of substance, then guess what, they probably wouldn't have played him.
Generally speaking it doesn't take 9 months to figure something like this out.

So what if it's true? It's not like LSU covered it up

I mean if that is all you need to come to your conclusion then ok I guess.
Its not like we haven't seen schools make bad judgements on playing players in the past.

It's actually not uncommon at all for investigations of this nature to take a very long time. Especially with high profile people.
And where does it say the investigation has been ongoing for 9 months?
He was accused of sexually assaulting a women back in September. Meaning that's when the alleged incident took place. But nowhere does it say when the victim came forward with the accusation or how long the investigation has been ongoing.
Jameis Winstons victim didn't come forward for 11 months and it took another year after that to complete the investigation.

You don't see how it looks bad to take on a player who's under investigation for sexual assault?
I guess you're also in the camp that LSU had no knowledge of this until the public did?

Is an Auburn fan seriously asking me this question?

Whatever makes you feel better about this. Again, if anyone doesnt think it's hilarious an Oregon newspaper releases this the day after he announces he's leaving doesn't make you laugh, then not sure what will.
Either Oregon will look like the bad guys in this if it turns out poorly or the newspaper was just a bit butthurt that an Oregon player decided to transfer. He cant even play here until a year and 3 months from now, which all of this will be resolved well before then.

All that has happened is he released a tweet that said he is transferring. LSU has not acknowledged that he is transferring.

It's just people trying to put LSU in a bad light.
Like has been said.........I wonder how LSU fans would be reacting if this kid had chosen any other SEC school besides LSU?
Oh yeah, Chavis sucks.

High profile, come on man

If it turns out to be true, then Wade is just going to let him go. Also frick him if it's true. It would maybe be worth being unethical if he were eligible immediately, because LSU is probably a big man away from being a tournament team.
there's nothing more to really say. Wade has us already in the running for top recruits across the country. If anything I'm happy the spot could go to a high schooler that's just as talented.

What transfer has Auburn ever taken accused of sexual assault or any type of violent crime at all?
When has Auburn ever tolerated this sort of thing?

Cool beans, this will make a great LSU hate thread!

Anybody playing football or basketball at a P5 school is pretty high profile, yes. Everybody on their campus will know who they are and what they've done. And their names are known by most people who are fans of the school, even if they are backups.

The fact that you're being downvoted just shows that people can't put aside their LSU butthurt and see reason and logic
