AUstar, the problem with your plan to simply open up the bidding is something called Title IX. Regardless of where the monies came from, there would be Federal lawsuits filed across the country claiming the lady pole vaulter was entitled to the same amount as the starting QB. I am not saying that is logical, but then how logical have the Title IX drum beaters...and courts...been? As for players being entitled to their cut..let's see them pay taxes first on their schollys, health plans, the projected value of their free education.
