Not the same as Lester Earl. IIRC Earl wasn't happy at LSU and wanted to leave. NCAA is giving immunity to kids who are not at OM. Earl had something to gain and the NCAA had been trying to nail Dale Brown for a while.

This really really isn't going away Ole Miss.

I would bet people like you will be pretty sad. What will you do with your life if you can't troll Ole Miss fans? I mean damn, over 42,000 posts you've made on this site and I'd bet the majority of them are about Ole Miss. How the hell do you have so much free time to post that much? Seriously, there has to be something else in life you can do with your time.

Can we just turn CFB into a professional sport already? I am tired of this crap. Everyone cheats and only some schools are selectively targeted for investigation. I say make the playing field level and open up legal pay for play. It's the free market in action. I would much rather have that system than the one we have where everyone is behind the scenes doing it already. What we have now is a black market and black markets always get out of control and breed even more criminal activity.
I would feel differently if the NCAA was fair, but they're not. Take DJ Fluker for instance -- he was paid, but the NCAA did nothing (Fluker refused to turn over his financial records). A bama coach admitted to paying a player and was fired. However, the NCAA decided not to pursue further action. Bama players are rolling through Tuscaloosa all day long with tricked out brand new cars. Nothing to see there -- NCAA doesn't bat an eye or think it's strange that kids from the ghetto are driving brand new vehicles. Bama boosters are paying for housing for the family of players (Rent Richardson). NCAA looks the other way. I could go on and on about bammer's rampant cheating.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Oh, you're just a paranoid barner. Surely the NCAA would act on such flagrant violations if they were true." Consider this: Mike Emmert (president of the NCAA) is Saban's best friend. [1] Even better, the head of NCAA enforcement (the guy in charge of ALL NCAA investigations) is a man named Derrick Crawford. Guess where Mr. Crawford graduated? Yep, University of Alabama. [2]
The system is corrupt as hell and it needs to go away. This is why I am all for legal pay to play. Open it up and let schools bid. Let's stop pretending that these players don't make the schools tons of dough. Let's give them their due and let them make money. God knows everyone else is making a ton of money off their hard work, sweat, blood and injuries. It's time they get a cut, too.

Because of they're secondary violations that everyone reports every year. That's why. Hell, on of them was over displaying too many trophies on recruiting visits. How is that even a rule?

That's at least the 2nd time you're brought Bama up in this thread about Ole Miss. You seem pretty mad online.

Yep, that's kind of what I'm getting at with my post. They also paid or tried to pay more than one recruit that signed with AU - the recruit reported that shite to the coaches AU when it happened.
This whole immunity thing may or may not be true according to Forde - but I do believe the NCAA was interviewing players this summer.
quote:With the AU incidents, those guys hadn't signed with AU at the time they reported that OM was paying recruits to come "visit" their campus. Hell, it was before NSD.
The issue is trying to prove any of that. I'm not saying it di or didn't happen, but to just take the word of a player that didn't even go to that school without some pretty hard evidence would set them up for a serious legal issue and set a very bad precedent for the future.
So it's not like the NCAA is just taking the word of a few players from AU, MSU, aTm, and possibly Michigan. The NCAA is doing nothing more than corroborating testimonies of various parties involved and they "may" be offering immunity to get these guys to talk.
OM is accused in the NOA of having boosters pay for travel, meals, lodging for potential recruits. Even hosting recruits and OM coaches in his own home. Who's to say boosters didn't give out $500 cash packets just to get stud's to visit Oxford?

I'm starting to think old miss might be done. Not death penalty but SEVERE sanctions. I ALMOST feel sorry for them. Not looking good.
