I think Bret is a good coach but is having some difficulties recruiting in the SEC. Butch is a snake oil salesman. He's all flash with very little substance. That doesn't mean he can't have a good year, but that I doubt he'll be able to string several successful years together (10+ win years).

Keeping in mind that he inherited a dumpster fire program that had a roster on par with Kentucky and that he's 1. flipped the roster completely at the speed of light 2. had the first back to back bowl wins since the 90s 3. the team has averaged winning 2 more games than the season before every season since he's been here 4. managed to finish with a post-season ranking in forever as well as begin last season with a pre-season ranking which hadn't had in years 5. has taken us from a 5-7 team when he started to a projected top 10 team, what exactly is the snake oil he's sold?

I know the popular opinion around here is to trash CBJ and Bielema but both inherited dumpster fires and thus far have done damn fine jobs with them. It's not as though CBJ came directly after Fulmer when the program was still relatively stable but in need of a rebirth. He followed Kiffin and Dooley.

Reading comprehension really does escape you. It's quite amazing, really. Not like I didn't mention they both inherited dumpster fires.

BB inherited far worse, (top 50 recruiting classes) and had to compete in the West.

Again, keep pumping that sunshine. You're the definition of a glass half full guy.

Normally, but whenever an OP of a different team sets up a question like this my stock response is to pick that poster's team. It's only right.

Smith probably did a bad job recruiting for the 2013 class but that would affect on the field results more in 2015 and 2016 than in 2013. Not very many freshman usually start.

Except they did for us. Skipper, Collins, Kirkland, Brooks Ellis and Hunter Henry all were forced to start as freshmen. Having two true freshmen and a walk-on on the OL was difficult.

I keep repeating this but guys like Tyler Wilson, Chris Gragg, Cobi Hamilton and Knile Davis all left after 2012. Not sure why people think Petrino had so much talent stockpiled behind them.

Petting left talent bebind? His 2011 class had 7 players lololol.seven. not seventeen. Not twentyseven. Seven. 3 OF THE seven started BranDon allen rohan Gaines and brey cook.

Considering your strange obsession with Bielema and Arkansas, I don't think this surprises anyone.

I am sure it doesn't surprise anyone. I look at the at the facts and the fact is Butch has done better compared to his teams last 4 years before he arrived then Bielema.

Both coaches inherited messes. Our 2014 teams had four seniors in the two-deep rotation. Dooley took a year off from recruiting Olineman and didn't even pick up the phone for an instate 5 star safety.

Maybe we should look at like who would do better at each others school..? What would the records be like if Bert was @ Tenner and Butchey @ ARK??

Give Bret and Butch equal players and I think Bert wins more games.
