Zach Hocker.

It's pretty simple really. Petrino likely loses to Ole Miss and Vandy in 2011 with the kicker we had last year. I don't get so hung up on wins just because nearly every game in the SEC west is decided by which way the ball rolls. As long as there is improvement and we don't go back to 2012 or 13 level again I'm fine with Bielema for now. With that said, if we don't take the next step in the next few years his seat will get hot.

I could also ask, does he not get credit for having his team play so well you think it was a 10 win team?

No way you thought that in the preseason

You can't have it both ways

Is this a real question? Stroke face coaches circles around Lyle.

The end.

Did he really inherit that bad of a situation? I'm sure Petrino left plenty of talent behind. The problem is that John L. Smith couldn't coach it at all in 2012. Smith probably did a bad job recruiting for the 2013 class but that would affect on the field results more in 2015 and 2016 than in 2013. Not very many freshman usually start.

And the fact of the matter is that when you're 0-8 in the SEC your first year you can't do any worse the 2nd year. Heck he was 0-13 in the SEC-I might manage to get lucky and win just one conference game if I coached 13 SEC games.

I would think Beliema by a lot. It doesn't seem like very many people actually think Butch is a good coach yet but I have seen media guys say Beliema is one of the best coaches in the conference and a lot of his fans actually think he is good . I would think The Vols are as good or better then they were before Butch while Arkansas is not even close to being as good as they we're before Beliema .

Bert's a damn good coach. I'd have no problem with Bama hiring him some day.

Yes he had a terrible situation. Petrino was here to watch his great first class graduate and just look at the attrition of his classes. Not sure without looking but one Petrino class had like 15 guys never contribute due to being kicked off and transferring

No, he didn't. On top of the massive amount of attrition Petrino neglected both lines. He also let the receiving core turn to shite by the end of his tenure. Petrino got lucky with the in-state WR crop his first year. Bielema has far out-recruited him there.

Considering your strange obsession with Bielema and Arkansas, I don't think this surprises anyone.

Agreed. It has to be Bielma because people don't always rate jones that highly.

I think Bret is a good coach but is having some difficulties recruiting in the SEC. Butch is a snake oil salesman. He's all flash with very little substance. That doesn't mean he can't have a good year, but that I doubt he'll be able to string several successful years together (10+ win years).

Bielema is just ahead of where we are historically in recruiting rankings, he has actually been slightly better
