Korin the Gator brought up the 1972 Orange Bowl ,I didn't. Since we were talking about those bygone days I just thought I would mention the 1972 Sugar Bowl.
Was Florida even in a bowl that year?

How did Auburn do during World War Two? Genuinely curious.

Bama. No one expected Auburn to win.

bama. if someone gets a hand on tre mason before crossing the goal line, auburn actually might've been the one scoring with only :13 left.
oh well, it is what it is. sucks to lose like that, and i refuse to watch the replay of the game...but truth is, apart from the FSU fans i know, none of my other friends even talk about the MNC. they always bring up the iron bowl, DSOR, the SEC championship, hell even the miss state game....plenty of good memories to take some of the sting off the MNC...

Bama's loss was more shocking, and they were not playing a team of equal caliber to FSU.

Since it is so good to lose a close one to hear you tell it, the next time just get the hell out of the way Barners and let a proven winner in national title games get the job done. Obviously close but no cigar is good enough for you. But not for anyone that calls themselves a winner.

Meh.. I think it was pretty obvious FSU was the best team in the country last year from top to bottom. If OU did what they did against bama then imagine the slaughter that would've taken place if bama had made it into that game vs FSU. UA fans should be thankful AU went instead. Not flaming here but it was obvious Bama had some major issues last year getting everything to click, it never really did.

Typical bammer, forgets that 2010 even existed. They forget they lost two home games in November, and still were allowed to play in the BCSNCG.

All speculation of course, but Bama is better built to stop pro-style teams. The teams that Bama struggles with the most are spread, read option, non-traditional offenses. When Bama is able to play Bama's game of match-ups and strength against strength, they would be more successful than playing against HUNH teams.
Preparation is where the game is won and lost, and that is where we ultimately lost the Sugar Bowl. They implemented a new system, and it worked. FSU didn't do very much differently in the BCSNCG from what they did during the season.

That's like gatorhata telling me that GT is a bigger rival than us.

I agree for the most part but while it is speculation, FSU was stacked talent wise (like UA) and had it firing on all cylinders (unlike UA). The problems bama had weren't speculation, from the first game of the season UA's O-line was very inconsistent.
