Did LSU lose a coach to another program 2 years ago or not?

Johnson was likely getting canned if he didn't leave.

The fact is 3 years after he was hired, he'll leave the program with a less talented roster than we he joined. If that's what MU wants, they're welcome to overpay for it.

I'd prefer that he stays, but I think the AD is right to not offer a contract extension/raise. If he loses to Iowa, he was probably going to be bought out anyway.

A decent tournament run is always pleasant, but it's small portion of his entire tenure, which was mediocre at the absolute best.

frick the APR!

Tennessee is nearing dumpster fire status for their basketball program to go along with football.

Apparently AD Dave Hart played basketball at Alabama under Coach C.M. Newton so he may be far more serious about basketball than I thought. Being a basketball guy would certainly explain a lot of Hart's maneuvering here.

Rucker's opinion is as important as Clay Travis'. Total loss of respect for any reporter that fabricates quotes.

But on this he's correct. This is an embarrassment for UT. There's no other way to spin it

All depends on how it works out. Martin's not leaving because people online signed a petition that no doubt had fake names and represented a drop in the bucket in terms of the fan base no matter how much that media narrative is spun. And btw, Clay Travis is the one who gave that exposure in the national media. Nor will anyone care in a matter of weeks. I think Zo was growing as a coach but it's not as though he's a big name in coaching who built a dynasty. A new name will appear and it's down the collective memory hole.

We hired O'Neill away from Marquette after he made the sweet 16. We'll call it even.

This is getting confusing:

quote:

Gary Parrish ?@GaryParrishCBS 2m Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin has removed himself from consideration at Marquette, a source told @CBSSports. Story coming ...

Sounds like he's staying.

An orange tie would look good on Coach Anthony Grant.

Maybe orange and navy but I'm pretty sure we'll pass.

Hart is not a basketball guy. He is a clown. He has never made a good hire in basketball in his administrative life.
