Not sure what you're trying to get at here.

Are you trying to say I'm on meth because I might happen to live in Missouri?

Will you and Porker please find a new obsession other than mizzou? Seriously your football programs are worse than mizzou! Arkansas will win one more game this year and Porker is on here talking shite about mizzou!

I don't say this to "hate", but Tennessee is Tennessee. The name alone has football undertones. They have National Championships. They are an iconic program.

That being said, they're in debt, and it will probably be a few years before they start getting it back.

I say Mizzou.

Your team is absolutely more promising, I mean if I needed overtime nearly to beat South Alabama I would be excited for the future too. If I couldn't beat a Mizzou team with no offensive line or QB, numerous other injuries, a dumb coach I would be excited for the future

That alone will get them recruits. Tennessee is a well respected program to the recruits down south.

On that note Mizzou have MONEY rolling in from donations since joining the SEC. Lot more still coming in.lol.

I think a better comparison would be Mizzou vs Ole Miss, Miss St, Arky or some middle pack SEC team. As of right now I still think of Tennessee as top half SEC even if they're down. They'll be back.

From a guy who lives in Virginia? You left a shithole like Tenner for another worthless hole?

At least I upgraded when I left Missouri.

Go see a dentist you inbred hick. Better yet don't, that way you'll still fit in.

I was wondering where Grits and Porker were tonight. Looked in a Mizzou thread and there they were. Maybe I will start looking there first from now on...

Missouri has an established coach, who seems to have changed his philosophy a bit. A weak recruiting class, and a season that hinges on everything.

Tennessee has a new coach, a new philosophy, a slightly better recruiting class, and a season that hinges on the future.

Much better OP!!

Simple answer :
Both will struggle and both need to get to 8 win seasons to survive.

Less simple answer :
Right now the players in the east are South Carolina (with an aging coach and renewed hype for Clemson) + Florida (new coach still not golden fighting with Florida State and Miami off to good seasons) + Georgia (solid coach with dominance of Georgia Tech) in a battle at the top, The other 4 schools are just fighting for space to get to the middle so they can aim for the top.

Tennessee = first year coach inheriting problems
Vanderbilt = newer coach building new thinking
Missouri = older coach adjusting to new environment
Kentucky = first year coach offering promise and recruiting inroads

The 3 on top are in the catbird seats and would have to fall to lose spot. The bottom 4 are all fighting for a niche that gives them and edge over the other 3 so they can separate from the Pack. The big issue is with all the new changes for these 4 teams it makes it much harder to know with a high degree of certainty which of the 4 will spin straw to gold. The Mizzou program has the hottest seat just because they will not have a grace period of 2 or 3 more years to get to 8 wins before they will have change forced on them. Viewed this way :

Mizzou must win now
Tennessee must win a year from now
Vanderbilt must win 8+ games a season
Kentucky has about 3 years to win

There was no overtime.

Look, Tennessee football has some serious issues to work out, but we have been to the top, it is easier to get back up when you have been up there.

If you are honest, you will recognize that we are in a better position to move forward than your program.

Regardless, I respect Missouri.

And I respect Tenner.

I let the rant get the best of me tonight. All I wanted was a good discussion about our fricking programs.

This place has a way of pissing me off.

I just focused on that and dropped all the rest of it - it is why it was in quotes

If you are recruiting kids they will not care about the dollars the school brings in they just want to play where they get on TV and where they play in "atmospheres" that separate the players from the also rans. Tennessee already has it and Missouri needs to build it.
